Sigma announces 35mm f/1.4 DG, 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC OS, 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS lenses

see quite a number of nikon 35mm f1.4 in BnS... maybe this is the reason... will wait for the price to stable to get a set to play..

Yeah. I noticed that too... I thought some of the prices the sellers are asking for are not too bad...

Both Pictures are not sharp at all.

My nikon 35mm f1.4G for comparison.

I just realised my previous pics were shot with a slightly dirty filter. I removed the filter and retook some test shots. Looks much sharper. Developed using Nikon ViewNX, which is the same as out of camera jpgs.

100% crop of the 36meg D800 at f1.4. I think it is pretty sharp.

Agree. This new Sigma 35mm is the sharpest prime lens I shot so far at wide open F1.4. Most of the primes I need to step down 1 or 2 stops or else it will be a bit soft on the edges.

Great job from Sigma. Hope to see more great lenses from them. :)

You guys use what filter on your sigma 35 f1.4?
I am hestitating between
B+W F-Pro UV MRC &
B+W XS-Pro UV MRC

The optical glass is quite extruding and I wonder if XS-Pro filter will touch the len's front part?

I bought my Sigma 35mm from CP. And the sales person told me they are having special promotion on B+W filters. So I bought the B+W F-Pro UV MRC for $60+. The RP was $110. My F-Pro will not touch the front element but not sure about the XS-Pro.

I have decided to go filter less with my nikon 35mm even though I have a b+w mrc filter

Parisilk Holland Village still got a few sets of the 35mm in both Canon and Nikon mounts.
For those who are interested, better hurry down asap before they are all gone again. ;)

Yea I am considering the same. A seller is selling his XS-Pro for $60 as he bought the wrong one. I will try see if it touches. If it does, it's another trip down for me to CP for the F-Pro

I have both and tried. Both are ok.
