Based on Photo Rumors, seems like the price is around 1099 AUD or 1030 USD.

According to Sigma Singapore, the local price is only RRP S$1,388, same as for the 35mm f/1.4 Art. Will be available in May.

Street price is much lower than RRP. Should be able to get it for the same street price as that of the 35mm f/1.4 Art which is <$1,200.

Why so hostile? It's a free market. And no I was not planning on buying it from the States. Just stating a point.

You are worryingly defensive about the local pricing. Perhaps unnecessarily too?

actually all the major brands, not just sigma, but canon nikon sony tamron etc, are more expensive in SG compared to other markets.

I guess if you can't make up revenue by volume (small market), you have to make do by charging a premium. otherwise the SG market will be unprofitable for camera and lens makers to bring new products into.

for those who travel alot, it's a no brainer to buy from overseas. for those who don't local warranty maybe more important.

this is a lens i would be interested to be on the early adopter wait list for haha..
