Otus is still untouchable. This could probably b as good as d FE 55/1.8 Zeiss for d A7/Rs.

probably... but untouchable at $4k, and almost as good as untouchable at $799.



I think it will be better than the 55/1.8. especially when it stopped down from F1.4 to F1.8

Haha. I like it being f/1.4. D FE 55 is already simply amazingly sharp. D OOF is also smooth n nice. I guess siggy is really gives d best value for money.

Other than price..shooting at f2 or 2.8 for such lens...i think better to have AF..if only Otus is AF also

I heard its going to be $1200-$1300 range here.... many people alr selling their existing 50's - maybe in preparation for this lens, which is bound to be a hit in 2014!!

Get the Otus now. Late 2014 lens is for the Otus 85mm.

There might also be a 24mm or 35mm OTUS (will be f/1.4's) coming in / or to be announced in 2014.
( yes cost higher than the 50 OTUS... :/ )

Definitely looking forward to this Sigma glass, although it will be quite a beast in terms of sheer size compared to my current Nikkor 50/1.4D! Hopefully it will come in much cheaper than the Nikkor 58/1.4.
