That is one heck of a sniper camera!

WOW!! Celestron can shoot the moon liao!! YEAH!!

Btw, the samples look too overly processed. Was it the highlight/shadows overly done?

Nope...just resized the image only.
No processing done on the image as I haven't adjusted the CA on Capture NX yet.

Probably it's because I set the film mode to Dynamic. In any case, the color is quite accurate as Petals just repainted their facade to this colour.

Contrast set to +1, Color +1, Sharpness +1

Will wait for a full moon and take some shots of the lunar craters.

Sorry my bad. Was referring to Allan Teo samples in the 1st post. Ur sample no prob :)

I shoot mostly in Vibrant mode. Find the colours a little dull from the G1 at times if under standard, or maybe it's just me.

This i agree. hence the whole discussion of Oly colours vs Pany colours. i've been shooting vibrant jpegs too, but sometimes the pictures might be a little bit overexposed.

so nowadays i shoot RAW. abit more trouble, but at least got more range to play with.

How much for the wide angle adaptor and where did you get it from?

This was from my old canon S2IS setup bought from lensmate online, i just pop it on as it was 52mm thread on the kit lens. Raynox now singapore got a seller mcgill, you can find his thread below. A pic of my cam with this setup mounted onto the kit lens.

wonder if the auto CA correction (only in JPEG) in new nikon bodies (d300 and newer) can nicely fix up the CA.

the 500f5 mirror i have now is the exact opposite, one of the strongest advantage of mirror lens is no CA

Hi Blacvios

Thanks for sharing the pic of your cam with the adapter.
Was thinking of getting the DCR6600 too.

However, when I clicked on the Raynox and McGill's website, the sample images are sharp from the centre to the corners. It doesn't exhibit the blurred/stretched effect that is apparent in your samples. Will it help if the aperture is smaller?

True, didn't have this problem with my S2IS, will try taking pics at lower aperture. I guess it is due to the m4/3 sensor distance to the flange. Will post pics at different aperture and post them here later.

I actually like the blur effects at the corners. ;p

Will updating the firmware improve the colours of the G1? just like what they did for the LX3.

Hi Blacvios

I didn't realise I still have an old $55 Vitacon fisheye converter which I got 20 yrs ago. Used it to test out the 14-45mm and the results are quite OK.

Maybe I'll try and stop down to F22 and see if the corner to corner sharpness is better. Currently using F10 only.

BTW, your HiFi setup is AWESOME !!!!!

The fisheye looks funky. HiFi is very expensive hobby, played around quite a bit few years backn now ended up with all tube system.
