Show us your lighting setups - Part 2

Here's some from me, one light with a white reflector for a bit of fill.

I used an Elinchrom RX600, with a Deep Throat Octa in front of my friend/model, stood in the middle of the light to try a different take on the catchlight :D

Hi everyone,

I was fortunate enough to be asked to shoot our Leopard Tank as well. This is my lighting set-up.

Once the photo is in print, i would update again. C&C please.

Band portraiture for an upcoming National Chinese Songwriting Competition hosted by my junior college, SAJC. The most fun group to shoot out of 8 groups. A five-man band from TJC with rock-style music that called for rock star portraiture.

SB800 1/2 at 24mm into 1m diffuser panel (~1m flash-diffuser dist) above, and to the right.
SB800 direct flash 105mm from camera right and slightly back for side light
580EXII direct flash 105mm from camera left and slightly back for side light
Triggered by Pocketwizard Plus II units and SU-4 optical trigger.

Composite. 5D + 70-200 2.8L IS.

Great thread!

May I know what's the difference when fire with WA such as 24 vs 105mm? Thanks.

the part where the black bg keeps dropping is funny. :bsmilie:

ya... :bsmilie: its a damn big piece of cloth... i almost wanted to give up until my wife help to put it up.... gonna throw it away once i get a proper backdrop...

WA gives more spread, tele is more concentrated

nice set-up catchlights, how do you keep all of them from opening their eyes before taking the shot?

there is no secret, all you need is take a few more frames and photoshop it.

Wow... A single umbrella has enough coverage for this big group ? Will the sides have slight light fall off ? or the fill will take care of it ?

at this distance, light fall off is very little, about half a stop between center and the both sides, but a lot of power wasted.
since the ceiling is so low, so make use of the bounce light.

took my strobes with me at bintan
