Many who have been shooting butterflies a number of years have yet to encounter or shoot one.

You lucky devil !!! Barely a few weeks into serious butterfly hunting and you got it nailed!!

You have another one to aim for!!! species #281 :)

A New Lycaenidae species for Singapore! Nacaduba biocellata ( Two Spotted Line Blue ) has became Species No:281 in the Butterfly of Singapore Checklist.

The first sighting of the species was recorded in 2004, 2nd sighting in 2005, 3rd sighting in 2006, on 08 Feb 2008 it was again spotted and recorded by members of ButterflyCircle. During the Chinese New Year period, a colony of the butterfly was located by ButterflyCircle and a voucher specimen was taken. The specimen has now been positively identified as Nacaduba biocellata ( Two Spot Line Blue ).

The Nacaduba biocellata is common in Australia, ButterflyCircle was very careful in evaluating its reliable existence on Singapore Island. With the last four years' records and the latest discovery of a colony of the butterfly, it leaves us with no doubt that it has established itself in Singapore.

How such a tiny butterfly cross thousand of miles from Australia to land on the shore of Singapore is still under investigation.

Hi Bluesteel & blurboiboi,

Any tip on where to go to get some exotic shots of butts? I getting tired of the same butts in my location and i think my new lens is coming soon. help ....

Hi Henry,

The list of locations where ButterflyCircle members hunt are listed here.

However it will be more profitable to link up with regular shooters who are familiar with these spots and the timing and activity period of the butterfly, to have a better chance of shooting them on these locations.

Do join ButterflyCircle members regular weekly outing to these spots like Blurboiboi and Sixshot76 did.

Cheers!

Henry,

Those are good shots considering your lens handicap.

I am certain that your shot will be much better when your T180 arrive.

Cheers!
