SGTrekker 8D7N Wonders of Egypt Photography Tour (28 Aug-04 Sep 2011)

While we were all standing outside waiting, we saw the road-side seller selling something. I think Adrian and gang did buy something to eat from him.

So cute. Many children and adults in Egyptian-Arabic clothings crowd around the cart.

On our way to Kom Ombo Temple. We saw children riding horses on the streets of Aswan.:heart:

Day 4: Kom Ombo Temple, Aswan.

On this day 4, our plan was pretty straight forward.
We would hit Kom Ombo Temple first, and we will spend as long as we could in this ancient temple before we go for lunch.
After lunch, we will head towards Edfu Temple, where we will spend another equally long period of time there.
When we complete both temples, we will make our way up north to Luxor where we will spend two nights.

The Kom Ombo Temple started construction around 145 BC during the Greek Dynasty (refer Acpical's official table of Egyptian History).
It is a unique temples as it was dedicated to two gods, the God of Crocodile (Sobek) and the God Horus.
And everything is symmetrical here.

We arrived at Kom Ombo at around 11am.

On this morning, we were very lucky.
Why? Because we were apparently the only group here at 11am.
And we had the whole temple to ourselves. (Well, I think there was another one or two small groups consisting of 1-2 foreign visitors later.)
Of course, not exactly totally to ourselves because there were many locals swarming around us.
Very surprisingly, the security guards actually chased them away for us later, leaving the place solely to SgTrekker!

Here we were listening to Omar our local guide explaining the history of the temple.

We all just can't wait to fly into the temple to start shooting.

Finally explanation finish! We all can go in already. Yay! :vhappy::cheergal:

Testing out the local telcom signal...

I still remember one of AlexK's favourite pastime... testing out the signals.
Even while cruising on the Mekong River in Laos, he was giving their local signal a run for their money.
Here at Kom Ombo, he was still making sure that the Aswani telecom operators are up to standard.. Kekeke..

Omar the local guide brought us to the left side of the temple entrance and showed us this well. He said it was called the Nilometer because by measuring the height of the water the govenrment can know how much to tax the local people. The Egyptian boys so cute. They also come all around to look at us.

I look down the well and wah the water level was so low. :bsmilie::think:

Oh, that one? I told the police we were coming already and need some peace and quiet.

Or the water cover the Nilometer already?? Tax 100%.

Wah! Really lovely!
As you all can see, all four of us had our left feet forward.
This is important as in Egypt, we MUST ALWAYS stand with our left feet forward to indicate bravery.
(No one stands with the right foot forward. Cos it means... nothing.. LOL)

Wah, so many columns in this old temple. That's very nice. I like columns very much.

Limwhow and I waited at this doorway for some of the local boys or men to walk by.

The King told the Horus God: "I love cupcakes. Please make many cupcakes appear for me to eat."

Half way through shooting, I decided to change to fish eye because all my UWA picture all look the same. So here is my fish eye shot of the columns

We all shoot until we again end up shooting each other.

Omar our guide was telling us how deep they actually carve into the stone. And here we can see that it is really very deep. No wonder they can last so long.

Unlike the earlier pyramids we visited, the Pyramids of Giza are more commercialised with more tourist arrival.

vngks, wait until you see the next one.
Acpical this Pharaoh he d*mn one kind one. I was shooting him walking towards me.
Then he said to me:
.
"Limwhow, come with me."
"Why ah, your Highness?"
"I want you to take a special picture of me."
"Ok lor..."

So I guai guai followed him, leaving SereneXMM in front shooting all by herself, no even knowing that I have been abducted.
The Paharaoh walked aaaall the way to the back of the temple where I am sure all would remember there was a long long corridor.
And then he pointed to me.

"Here. You stand here. I am going to that side. When I am ready, you take a shot of me."

So I did.
And here it is.

The Pharaoh exclaimed: "Oh God! What have I done to deserve this sunburn on my arm??!!"

6144730062_ddf26857f9_z.jpg

The Pharaoh took one look and said not pass.
Because got movement blur and the god that he way wailing away to was the wrong god.
So I was made to retake another shot. But that one he says for himself only... LOL!!!

Here, the boys were equally intense in their actions.
And they are equally fascinated by the river and the happenings around her.
But of course, these fellows are crazy about their equipment too... LOL..

Including limwhow. :bsmilie:
