erm.. u mean dry-box right?
any one also can, as long as weatherproof. inside put dessicant can already.

for storage, if can shoot at lower res, go ahead. general shots dun need full res (10MP).
but those once-in-a-lifetime shots the higher res the better. best is RAW, if not come back SG if exposure wrongly cry also no use.

bracketing.. put simply is that the camera automatically adjust the exposure for your shots in set increments. you will take 3 shots of the same scene (commonly) at different EV (exposure value), eg. +/- 0.3EV.

my analogy - say for a scenic shot you adjust the aperture and shutter speed to value n.

when you are in bracketing mode, you take 3 shots:
1st shot: n EV
2nd shot: n + 0.3 EV
3rd shot: n - 0.3 EV

so its kind of the camera adjust your exposure settings abit higher and lower, no need you to go tweak the exposure repeatedly.

hope this helps. =)

Well explain...

i was toying with my new D80 and took shots of my sleeping Campanion (my toy garfield). Took RAW. wah...my 2GB card show only 162 shots available only...
wah...I need a lot of cards.!

no no.. for very general shots right, shoot jpeg, medium format. eg. ppl walking, crowd scene, etc. assuming those don't need too much detail one.

wan abit more detail, switch to jpeg large. can do this quickly by holding the img quality button near the bottom of the LCD, then rotate ur command dial.

once in lifetime shot, shoot RAW large. so if anything you set wrongly, can adjust on the computer when u get back. cuz this pix will be the precious ones you'll have little chance to shoot again.

my rationale for above is your storage constraint...
typically from my D80, RAW large is 8MB, jpeg large 4MB. that's 50% savings! :D

note tho.. that RAW pix come back liao MUST edit - set exposure, WB, etc.
imagine if all your pix all RAW... scary..

also, wan shoot RAW must understand the benefits, if not shoot RAW can be worse than jpeg. everyone say shoot RAW better, BUT you must know WHY you wan to shoot RAW.

niwae, RAW vs jpeg is all the rage now.. magazines, forums, etc. all debating pros and cons.. just google it, will shed alot of light on the matter. :D
