I also used CV 35mm f1.2 V2 before, it was amazing! Too sharp for my 5N, but much heavier than the camera itself LoL
Now using SEL24F18Z on my 5R, the focal length suit me better, but sometimes I hope it has OSS..

Now tempted to get the 35mm F1.8 because of the OSS.
Tried to sell the 24mm Zeiss but nobody want to buy le.. I think the Zeiss price will drop if the new 35mm really good..

Thoughts?

I dont believe no one would buy if you sell at the right price. It must be your pricing. If you want, I'll buy from you for $100 (see, i already expressed my interest to buy).

Anyway, for me, zeiss will always have its value for its quality.

If the 24mm focal length suits you, then keep it. Zeiss can maintain its value for a long time.

Unless u die die must always buy the newest gear like me....

It's different lens and build. The price will staying maybe over time retailers may drop it slightly . But will not because of 35mm 1.8.

Infact the 35mm1.8 may flood b&s when the zeiss 32mm 1.8 releases

I've seen your sale post. IMO, you could go a little lower. The SEL24F18Z can be bought new locally for $13xx, or even $11xx+ overseas. Did any potential buyers negotiate with you?

I decided to give the Zeiss more love for now.
Btw, the hood quality sux, cheapo plastic, not so durable and can easily get scratched
You may want to be more careful if you have the Zeiss as well.

I was quoted $5xx for the SEL35F18 only but i still don't think this lens will get any use as i have the SEL24F18 already so didn't buy lo...

Hi rakurai, try to sell the 24mm then you can use the fund to buy the 35mm and the 10-18mm.

As i see it there are several advantages of the 35mm compared to the 24mm -
-it's smaller
-it has OSS
-sharper
-it has a smoother bokeh because of the near circle aperture
-it focuses faster
-long enough for portrait (for my taste at least)

Just curious, in that case why is the 24mm so much more ex than the 35mm?

Currently I own the kit lens, 50mm and 24mm CZ for my Nex 7. I probably have no reason to get the 35mm.

HK is cheaper but spoke to authorized Sony seller they said they can convert the warranty to international warranty but now only 6 months :-( still good I think but you lose 6months of warranty.
