SEL 35mm f/1.8 OSS

Looking forward to your test results.
Was busy with kid for the past 1 week and finally found time to grab a copy of this wonderful 35mm F1.8 lens for my Nex 7. No stocks at all my regular stores so no loyalty discount, but luckily found a last set in one of the Funan shop so gotta pay full retail price.
A very well made lens, metal exterior, nice matching black colour. Similar to my pancake zoom, but this lens seems to be sharper than the pancake zoom!
Slightly longer in length as compared to the really nice and petite pancake zoom. Glass looks very high quality.
Pancake zoom is Made in Thailand. This one is Made in China.
Fast focusing, totally silent.
Overall, very happy with this purchase.

Happy with mine too.... This is really a good lens for Nex... Enjoying this more than the CZ24f1.8 that I used to have...
Small and petite, just like the superb pancake zoom, but with hidden talents.
This is what the Nex should be. Not like the old time, with long and heavy lenses and light body, creating an imbalance.
With the 35mm f1.8 (as well as the pancake zoom for multi-purpose travel lens), I can now keep my Nex 7 in my briefcase, car glovebox, without realizing the weight and bulk.
Using my neoprene full cover of my old compact camera, and it wraps nicely over my Nex 7. Perfectly compact yet powerful.
The form factor is even smaller than my X-E1 that I used to have.

The price of the cz24 is 3X more than the 351.8 so I think 351.8 is still a value lens even though the cz24 is better picture quality but doubt it's worth the much extra amount of money spend.........................................

You will seldom find a 24mm f1.8 prime cheap , let alone a cz. The 35mm is doing good like its brother 50mm1.8. In terms of sharpness.

Not that it really matters anymore, but Sony Singapore just had the product page for this lens up today. Strangely, no SRP, though we already know it's S$629.00
