Also, Ed told me EX1 16:9 aspect ratio is cropping the top and bottom portions of the sensor, much like the LX1 & LX2, so when shooting in 16:9 aspect ratio, the file size is smaller than when shooting in 4:3 or 3:2.
LX3 sensor native aspect ratio is 16:9, so when shooting in 4:3 or 3:2, the sensor will be crop.
Crop to 20%, no other pp done :

Though this time round, the shots are abit under exposed (didnt want the sky to be heavily blown), the result are similar as those shots I took at Plaza Sing (see post #184 in page 10 of this thread). So unless I dam suay, both EX1 I used are lemon, I am convinced beyond doubt the difference in the performance of both cameras.
At ISO-800, the differences remained unchanged.
So, does that means LX3 applied more sharpening, saturation & contrast with when these parameters are set to 0, as compare to EX1? Or is the lens on LX3 really sharper & contrasty?
Sharpness, Saturation & Contrast are personal preference as well as relative (when compared to another camera), if EX1 owners expect jpeg right out of their camera to match LX3, the parameters has to be adjusted.

The EX1 photo above doesn't have obvious noises at ISO400??
It does not have that obvious noise but all photo look so "unsharp". Im not sure about you but spending time doing PP on all jpeg is a killer and wasting time. If want to shoot RAW for better performance, the image conversion have to done in Samsung's CD, then transport to CS. Don't you think its very troublesome?
Anyway is personal preference. Like what i mention, some will love it, some will hate it.
Ps: off the record, take note on those nite shoots you are doing, most of them are total dark. Can't see any detail. Try play with setting more.
The effort of doing comparison between LX3 and EX1 is good but not good enough because the aspect ratios are not the same. Not sure how it would affect the outcome of the comparison. Only the professionals will know.
