I think you are still new and not familiar with this camera. Please read the manual and play more with the camera.

Please read my post carefully... U mentioned in A mode u can change the shutter by scrolling left right using front dial... and when press u can change the EV.

I am just saying that merely scrolling the front dial cant change anything... you can only press in and scroll to change EV... and of course by doing so the shutter will increase or decrease when you over expose or under expose...

Anyway end of argument.... cant be bothered to spend time on these meaningless stuff... better off enjoying shooting ......

Where got keep dropping? It's still around 550 but with more freebies only. It's common for every camera indeed. Is there any compact camera that its price will keep climbing? :dunno:

issit? i thought the price was higher than $550 previously? other cameras pricing don't drop that fast. how much has the G11 dropped since launch?

When it was just newly launch in Singapore in May, MS Color quoted me $650 then on the same day I bought EX1 at Funan IT Mall at $550 without the Samsung camera case and 1 SD card. Also, 1 day later, I saw price quoted by Courts at $699. When comparing the price, must find the shops with fair market price. I also can quote my EX1 at $750 if I like, just no buyers only. Of course the price will fluctuate depend on the economy condition, demand and supply, but you should be able to know where to get a fair price in Singapore. Some places like Sim Lim Square, Orchard Road and Courts should be avoided.
The price I saw in May and June ($550) may not be the same now, unless you keep track with the price movement.

I never take MS Color price into account for Samsung EX1 because I know they sold at higher than market price when the EX1 was first launch in Singapore. In fact, during the same period, I called them about LX3 and they quoted me $639 including Lumix camera case, 1 extra battery, 1 screen protector, 1 SD card and cleaning kit. They may sell some brands at cheaper price and other brands at higher price. Same for other shops too.
So I don't bother who bought EX1 at $650 or $750. Always do some homework before purchase then you will be able to buy EX1 at fair market price.

interesting, i seems to recall someone eagerly wanted to sell my buddy a pre-owned ex1 at $550, but he decided not to get it as the image quality from ex1 is still questionable after we did a comparison test with lx3.

so, those hunting for ex1, remember, dont go paying $550 for a pre-owned set in the b&s, cause at that price, can get brand new set. like kentwong wrote

i think this is even more valid when buying pre-owned items.

Hmm, not sure how you did your comparison test with LX3. Seems that it is contradicted with the results from the website http://www.seriouscompacts.com/f41/s...quivalent-259/ given by wazzup above.
A lot of bros here wanted to see the comparison between LX3 and EX1. You may refer to the link above and decide yourselves. For me, I paid that price and I'm happy with the quality I got. Tht's it. :thumbsup:

Do note that the price of a 2nd hand DSLR body is around 1K (eg: canon 40D -> $800, Nikon D90 -> 1K) now. Would i want to buy a over rated PnS or go for a DSLR? That the decision now...

And yes, thanks for the reminder to do our homework first. ..... thats why after view thru this post and the review of EX1 and LX3, the price vs the performance is really into consideration.

You forget to mention the Years ...

LX3: USD377.92 ----> 2 years in the market
EX1: USD399.00 ----> few months in the market.


for a cam that is 2 years in the market and the seller still consider the price value compare to a cam that is on the market for few month ... which one is more "Profitable" ....

You buy ur cam from Amazon? those price are local price. U can check out from CP or AP .. but of course don't check with MS color since u got bad encounter with them
