Yes, me too, not encountering such issue. Probably you have to send your camera to service centre for checking.

There is nothing to insult on a camera. A camera still a camera. no matter how u treat it, its still a camera. unless you meant the ego of the seller that is to be insulted by selling low price?
Anyway lets not blame what is what nor who is who. I would like to see good review, not just simple one sided story. I believe lots of ppl also looking forward to it. Its an good effort of TS to make it happen but in order to move to another level, we need really comparison.
LX3 killer is what ppl give to this cam, if its really what is say it suppose to be then bring it on. I would really like to give this cam a try. So any bros or sis got this camera and willing to share with ppl like me, like make the arrangement and show how prof CSeans can be.
i got the EX1 for a bro here two days ago.. and i love it...
i am used to using a full frame dslr and i am still quite impressed by the IQ of the EX1.
just some quick reviews i found about the EX1..
Likes:
- The color from the camera. Not sure if its the schneider lens or what, the colours from EX1, i find it to my taste, its got this smoothness, DSLR-like quality to it which i really like it..
- 24mm Angle, i think its great.. abit of distortion, but still great。 edges are quite good.
- the little scrolling wheel in the front of the camera to scroll the setting. very dslr-like.
-Screen is great, swivel design, i think i will like this later.. haha
- the interface is pretty easy to use, buttons are placed quite well, intuitive.
- F1.8, DOF is actually pretty nice...
- the not so sharp lens, i agree is not razor sharp, but i think that is the point of it, cause if everything is so sharp, it becomes flat, like all other PnS suffer. Personally, i do not like the sharp sharp look.
Don't:
- Battery supplied abit low capacity, but batteries are cheap, small and light.
- dont really like the lens cap, they could have easily made the internal lens cover like the S90
- its abit heavy, compared to the S90, the camera feels like a mammoth. But its well built. solid materials.
- The biggest fault, no MINI USB port. why???!!!
it comes with a funny interface cable thats quite short. u can't do **** with it.
i mean what are they thinking? 99% of cameras have the mini usb port, so its easy to find the cables anywhere to connect to the computer.
-Flash abit small.
- at High ISO, abit noisy for my liking, but ya i know this is a PnS
Overall, this PnS impresses me, and most importantly, its very value for money. I bought this to bring overseas instead of my 5D so that i can concentrate in shooting film. i must say now my digital images can look good too!

yes, please do not sell at a low price. this is a good camera. you should not worry. people will come to you when the reviews are up and going.
i might want to sell mine to fund for L lense but then again i need a compact for the times when a DSLR is too big to carry around for certain functions, the very same reason why i used to own a LX3 and how much i missed it when it was gone.. lol :/

Got the ebay flash trigger today. Tried my Sunpak 383, and the PT-04TM fires it in M, A, S, P modes, but there are several troubles with this setup.
In A, S, P modes you don't have enough control over the camera to get a good exposure. Even though the Sunpak auto 383 flash terminates itself with its sensor, the camera does not know that there is a flash being used. So in a relatively dim room using A mode, if you set the aperture to a value which is suitable for the flash(say f3.3) the shutter speed will be set by the camera to a very low value(say 1/4 s) which would necessitate using a tripod, and the resulting image is greatly overexposed to the point that compensation will not correct it enough. Of course if you use S mode on the camera you can't set the aperture to the proper value called upon by the flash distance from the subject.
So there is always M mode. But again the problem here is that the camera does not know there is a flash being used and the lcd does not gain up when a relatively high shutter speed and small aperture are selected so you can not see your subject in a dim room. You've set your aperture to about f4 and shutter to 1/60 to stop motion of subject, and the resulting view in the viewfinder is too dark to be able to compose. It does brighten when you half press the shutter button, but it isn't long enough to really know if you've composed it well. I actually found a way around this by popping up the camera flash (it won't go up all the way due to the PT-04 trigger device which is in the hotshoe) but it goes up just enough to make the camera go into flash mode. Then the lcd gains up and you can compose your subject even with the higher shutter speed and smaller aperture. Then having set the proper settings in M mode you take the shot and the external flash fires and we have a very good bounce flash image as long as you've put in the proper aperture for the distance involved....including the bounce from ceiling to subject. I just held the flash in my left hand making sure not to block the flash sensor with a finger, and kind of supported the left side of the camera with the edge of my hand. You could use a bracket if this is something you are willing to do.

As you can clearly see in the larger images the advantage of using bounce flash with fill is very great. We can use ISO 80 and get very sharp noise free images.
All in all, I've decided that it's too much trouble to do all this, and so I ordered a Samsung SEF-20A flash for the TL500. It is smaller than my Sunpak flash, and I am hoping it will not be too top heavy on the camera. I'll post the results after I get it in a week or so.

Bro, if you MANAGE to find some bros or Sis who willing to let you play with Ex1 for comparison, so update me. I can lent you my LX3. Frankly, I pretty much interested in Ex1. Like what i meantion to a bro last time, if EX1 does perform to my minimum expectation, I don't mind playing for it.

Don't hold your breath.... I paid for my order of the SEF-20A in full up front one month ago at the Vivocity showroom and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. They told me when I paid for it that it would take only about 1 week to get stock from Korea but follow up with a telephone call later on to say that it would not be in for another month.

Called MS Color few days ago that the accessories for EX1 will arrive in Singapore in middle of July 2010.
I noticed all shots posted here are still objects and I agree all of them looked really nice, almost DSLR-like.
Anyone can post shots taken on their kids/pets? ie. objects that moves? Importantly want to know how fast can this gem focus and also the skin-tone colours.
As far as I can remember, LX3 doesn't render skin-tone quite as nice.

It's tough for any P&S camera to capture kids even with a fast lens. It's a juggling act between setting a shutter speed fast enough to stop movement and an iso low enough to present good quality. Here are some shots of my granddaughter who is never still unless asleep. I think they represent real world use of this camera. I probably could have bumped up the iso to get a faster shutter speed, but like I said, it's a juggling act. I think I used intelligent auto on some of these. Anyway, it shows that an external flash is very necessary in situations like this where you need to have a fast shutter speed. I've got one on order.
