For D90, best to pair it with 17-50mm, because 24-70 is a lens better suited for full frame system (D700, D3).
Morever the 24-70 won't be a 24-70 on a D90 body.
Unless you are planning to switch to full-frame body anytime soon, otherwise just stick to the DX lenses since they are adequate and wallet-friendly.

I have a D90 as well (and a D300), and I pair those up with a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, or if I'm lazy to keep switching lenses then I'll use my Nikkor 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 lens.

Hi Sam...

Thanks for the advise.. I got my Tamron 17-50 today...pretty happy with the photos. :)... I'll pack this lens and my 50mm f1.8 for my Jpn trip... Look fwd to capture good photos like IRS and share with u all soon.

Thanks.

hi Sam,

nice album you have there. May i know where is the ramen musuem, i am going Japan late Oct.:)

The Ramen Museum is at the suburbs of Osaka. Within 5mins walking distance south from the Ikeda station.
There is a map at the Ikeda station where you can see where it is exactly.
See link: http://www.nissin-noodles.com/english.htm
Go to Umeda station (Hankyu Takarazuka local line) which is located next to Osaka station and take a 25min direct train ride to Ikeda station. 1 way trip costs 260yen.

Which part of Japan are you going?

173) Although we didn't expect to come across a 2nd branch of Krispy Kreme in 1 day, it was a very much welcomed find.

174) We bought a box to bring with us to Takayama the following day. Well, technically only half a box made it there...

175) Taking subway at Osaka

And thus concludes our day 4 of the trip at Osaka.
Coming up, Takayama....

Thanks. If anyone reading this thread needs info on any place I went before, just ask away.

I will be heading Japan again in this coming Nov to Tokyo, Okayama, Gotemba, Kyoto (again...), and Kanazawa.
For those (or gf/wife) who love Sylvanian Families characters, I'll be heading to the sylvanian families themepark at Gotemba as well so I will try my best to share directions to go there since it's not a very accessible place to go to.

Thanks. And yes, that's because Miyajima island itself is a very very popular tourist place amongst the Japanese and also there's only a few hotels on the island itself. The room I choose was slightly pricier because I wanted a room with seaview and it's very much accessible from the ferry terminal. Morever the room package comes with in-room dinner plus buffet breakfast. The in-room dinner already costs quite alot since it's lots of food and comes with sashimi as well. Usually rooms which comes with in-room dinner will costs at least around S$300 no matter where you go in Japan.

oic..thanks for the info.
will be camping here for more photos meanwhile.. nov is coming. : )

1900-2020: Dinner (very thinly sliced Hida beef with rice) at the hotel's dinner room.

Return Bus tix to Shirakawa-go: 8600yen for 2 pax
