Ignore button = ignore list. Goto your User CP, click on buddy/ignore list (lower left), then under the ignore list, enter the nick you want to ignore. Voila, done! You will never have to see SOS' post again, but if someone quoted it, you will still have to bare with it. ..oh well.

Snapshot (student, leejay, etc.)

The term snapshot aesthetic refers to a trend that began to influence fine art photography in the USA from around 1963. The style featured careless compositions and banal everyday subjects, often presented as eccentrically juxtaposed sequences of photographs. A snapshot, as pointed out by someone, is an image taken very quickly at an opportune time. The subject of the snapshot is irrelevant to what a snapshot is.

On the other hand, a portrait is a subject - of the likeness of a person. The nature of the manner of making a portrait is not spelt out. There are many ways of making a portrait. Some laborious, with planning down to the last possible details with absolute control. Others are snapshots.

IMHO these are the acceptable definitions .... :think:
As for the above, the line is very thin. To the TS, it can be his "fashion image", a snapshot, a portrait .... what does it matter? ... to me, this is a very well taken image, but maybe too sharp for my liking, but ideal for the magazines.

With regards to this photo, I am not sure whether this is a posed shot or snap shot. I happened to watch Nat geo channel and Steve actually went to hunt for her 10 yrs later (if I remember correctly). She is already married but her eyes were still the same. The photographer actually posed her and shot several photos of her. Just some follow up information on this. Sorry for the OT.
