On the contrary, I feel that the 100%DR shot by Triodeman actually shows what can go wrong. It gives the impression that because the extended DR capability of the camera isn't used, you get blown-out clouds? Please, I've seen folks with D70 can do better.
My point is - get your basics right. It isn't just the camera. No doubt the S5 Pro makes it a lot easier to get great pics. But metering, exposure, blah blah blah, they are still necessary. In this case it is a PLBV. Sorry, Triodeman, but that's what it is.
siao liao.
saving $$ now.
After viewing through all the luvly pics here... yes, I agree it's PLBV... but man...
I must save up $$$ for the S5Pro![]()
some indoor shots ;p
yeah yeah...made a boo boo. din realize i was on iso 1600...din check :embrass:
yaaaaaaa right!!! hehehe
tempt u a bit more then.. so far, all the pics from s5 are outdoors. this is my most recent studio shoot. shot with a 35-70/2.8 in F1 mode, CCD-RAW converted to JPG in LR. added a border in CS3. dats abt it. almost as straight from the camera as u can get.... now, if only adobe can create an in-cam software to do this...

yy - once in a while, u might get lucky and see a s5pro on sale in buy/sell. tho, i would suggest u still keep ur current nikon, for some situations where a little more speed is required.
The S5 pro, like the D70, tends to underexpose, sometimes by 1 stop. Though not as bad as the D70.
Another thing i noticed, the histogram feedback shape from the S5pro is quite different from the histogram in adobe CS3. Many photos looks ok based on the histogram on the camera but is slightly underexposed when viewed in my laptop. Anyone experienced this?
