Maybe you r right!

Been to Allan photo to get a feel of the S5.

True that the ergonomy is not as good as S2.

Also was not impressed by the focusing ability of the cam. Better than the S2 but not by a wide margin.

Will keep on thinking.

Thanks for your advice !

You are welcome.

Yes.... I still think that Fuji should keep some of the original features from S2 or S3 such as the built-in vertical grip.

The menu interface of the S5 is elementary. Not like those of the D200 or D80 (which you have handled before).

Wow, the S5pro is here ah. This cam is the best and latest of fujifilm yesteryear technology.

Isn't some things of yesteryear worth keeping? Such as old Rolex watches and Leica cameras.

From my understanding, Fujifilm is a very traditional company. They don't change their film emulsion for Velvia during the last 20 years. Do you expect them to change their DSLR technology within 8 years? Very unlikely. Fujifilm S# Pro series is catered only to a specific group of photographers, mainly those who shoot portraitures or crime scene investigation (with their S3 Pro IR model).

If you are those who is trigger-happy, or shoot sports for a living; the S# Pro series is not your cup of tea.

i shoot nothing I just do DI for photographers.

If I shoot I will get a couple of S5.

The Fujifilm S# Pro series cameras (except the older S1 Pro) are a dream for those who hate doing DI, including myself.

Despite the fact that I conduct regular Photoshop workshops for both professional photographers and hobbyists, I try to keep DI manipulation to the minimum if ever possible.

if every photographer shoot like you I have to hang up my tablet.

my favourite camera of all time...

btw... tis is shot with S5pro...no touch up...

That is the problem with most photographers these days. Too dependent on DI.

I was trained professionally the 'old school' way, meaning using films- 4x5 sheet films to be exact. When it is about US$5 per click, there is no room for error.

Can the S5Pro be used as a flash commander for CLS?
Any S5Pro user can enlighten pls?

Congrats dude.

Got my S5 last weekend from MS. Tried it in the new showroom at AMK Hub and was impressed by the colours. I really like the dynamic range and accuracy of the WB.
I am new to Fujifilm so I need some advice.

1. I usually shoot in raw format but since the S5 is so new, is there a good raw converter for the S5? Used ACR3.7 and Fuji Studio already but think it could be better.

2. Is there an editing software like Nikon Capture NX for Fujifilm?

3. Online resources for Fujifilm such as the eBook by Thom Hogan.

Sorry, I am using a Nikon body too.
Thanks.

try silkypix. it supposedly deals with the s5's s and r pixels.

Welcome to Fuji world!

Use to hv Nikon as well but could not take the colour and WB compared to my Fuji.

Kept my S2 pro for a while and just upgraded today to S5. No regret! It is as good as I was hoping for.

For the raw converter hyper utility should come out soon.

For fuji, I do not know a dedicated webpage excepet the forum on dpreview.

Enjoy your S5.

You mean so much easier for DI.

Actually if you know what you are doing, no need to DI. My personal outing photos I don't post-process, just resize and add border+siggy for web and out they go.

That said, the problem is usually behind the camera. :bsmilie:  :sticktong
