Wah nice leh....so how? Can S5 do IR?
wow. use what? i wanna buy.
how much??????????

Do take note, you will need shutter speeds of five to ten seconds for this shot. Also, what you are seeing is not traditional IR photos. Those are black and white. These are false colour IR photos, since the R72 does let some visible red light pass.

The last time I checked a 58mm Hoya R72 cost around $50.

Also, the photos need to be processed. The colours in the final photo depends on the photographer.

Bench & Lamp

The middle is what it would look like normally. I did not process the middle photo to get the other two. The left and right ones are IR photos, processed to produce different colours.

Go look in the IR/UV Photography forum here, people are nice and friendly there.

You might want to pre-set focus, exposure etc. This way you will be able to nail a shot as the car comes into the cameras view. Shutter lag can be a pain. Only problem would be that you will have to switch when you want to move your camera to a different target.

Set to panning IS. Follow the cars as they zoom past and you press the shutter. Keep the camera moving in the same 'flow' as you release the shutter. This will reduce motion blur on the cars.

The lights are really bright, so I do not think you will have to worry about a lack of a tripod. The IS in this little camera is quite impressive, I have been able to get good shots at 660mm (with my tele-converter) in daylight.

Great help brother! Thanks

No worries!

You might want to join the IR outings before you purchase a filter. IR shots tend to turn out better when the sun is out in full force. Only problem is, that chap holding the camera might fry in the process! :bsmilie:

i think im gerring the R72 this weekend. weehee.

yes u are right! :D should have done that

Its great! i am quite weak in editing, may i noe what u did? thanx a lot!

I'm super fond about square crops, so I crop away the left portion.
I did some sharpening to bring out the details.
Tweaked the curves, saturation and contrast to make it look darker.
If you dont set the mood, its as good as any snapshots of flowers out there.
I also set an overlay of soft slight painted effect to make it even unique and to remove the artefacts and noise.
(I realized that both the recent pics you post have lost alot of quality, compression?)
Lastly, a soft vignette :D
