Some nice shots there, lastboltnut...

The BW tone on your #2 is nice (ISO 400 or 800 I guess). But why the cut-off at the lower part? Is it delibrate?

#3 expresses the caption pretty well. But I think there's quite a bit of noise there.

#4 Like it too, but wonder if it will be better to center the bins

#7 Nice

#8 Nice too (but a little soft)

*Just personal opinions*

Yah GeckoZ, I agreed with you. I am trying to develop the 3rd eye for photography too....I just took some pics from a roof top garden this aftn, will post when I have time.:)

Also, duno where you took that pic leh.

Nice job on the PP (sure looks more dramatic that way)!

I'll pass on the guessing part.

Saying that your friends told you where it's taken gave you away on the originality of the photo. It may not be so nice for you to sign on it (beware of copyright issues... )

Hi David,

Those pics were all ISO 400, abit dark there for 1/13 shutter speed......

#2 was not cut off, it was the end of the board, just that I did not include the board end in the frame....a bit slanted too.....should havr rotated and crop.

#3, same ISO400....

#4, Yah, it took me a while to consider how to frame it....may be will try center the nex time.

#8, erm, it was really a stolen shot, so a bit OOF.....sharpen with PS. But the time I 1 2 re-shoot, she noticed me and went off...

Thanks for all your comments! And please continue to share your nice pics!

David, I think the pic was taken by him, it was his friend's guess that it was taken in a Muslim country.

P.S- I went to the rooftop garden at those new HDB blocks opp Kallang MRT and try some shots, then I got chase out by the security! He said the garden won't be opened for public till end this month!

I was thinking of shooting the fireworks from there next Sat.....hope it's opened by then:dunno:

Yah loh. But that is the best I can get....cant go for a shooting session, got bb at home.....so that place is the only choice for me (shoot during my Aunt's house warming).

Hey, any advise how to avoid using ISO400 for my above airport series?? What would you do if you were me?

"Pay up the sweet sap you owe us, you scumbag!", said the leader of the gang.
"I will... but give me more time... I can't find a good plant sap to repay you..", said the poor ant.
"*evil laugh* from the group...

Make the best of of it then!

Aiyah, I'm not any better than you (so don't have good solution to it :( )

2 things I can think of is:-

1) Use flash (not possible as it attracts attention)
2) Buy a DSLR (very ex.)

Hi Henry, nice story, but I think if you use Nightz88's pic, you better put it in Quotes.....better that way.

haha~ probably u can shoot the fireworks since the security says it would be opened by end of this month. but prosumer cameras like S2 and S3 wouldn't do a good jog in fireworks shooting, results would be VERY BAD from my guess...
Get a SLR for that if you can, cos for SLR, u can use F/8 and above, and shutter speed only 3 seconds. This would produce ultra sharpness and just the right timing to get the full bloom of the fireworks. for prosumer with low ISO, u probally needs to do F/3.5 and shutter speed of 10seconds?

i did some shooting at the airpot not long ago too, i didn't push up the ISO. I shot them at F/4 and 1/6 sec. the brightness was ok, but i didn't really shoot much cos i didn't see anything interesting.. and sometimes i just got dejected and gave up some shots becos of the low light sensitivity. It wouldn't give me anything nice.

atleast u can get pictures at the correct brightness, and at the same time, use the correct aperture and most importantly, shutter speed.
