Like what i said, if you have an eloquant, well groom daughter who stands elegantly 1.85m tall and is beauty in every school and every club she goes to. Winning the pagent contest would not be your ultimate goal for her life. If you have a choice, you want her lead a better life.

I think I'd lock her up at home with 12 padlocks till she's 21 to keep the ah beng army from trying to "score" her. Hahahaha!

(just kidding, all kids should learn to deal with life...)

she says BOOM ar..

first time i heard i heard something else... :bsmilie:

Certainly, it may not be fair to judge her by just one You Tube video, but i think all of us who have seen this video would already be imagining in our mind as she speaks with the International Host for the Miss Word Pageant: "Hiiiiiiii, yessrrrr I'm from Singaporrre! It's a loverrrly small island and wow! It Booms and Shouts!"

you must add a few more dots in between, based on the performance in the video... here, let me do it for you..

"Hiiiiiiii....... yessrrrr I'm....... from Singaporrre! It's a loverrrly....... small island and.......... wow! It Booms.......... and Shouts!"

cummon guys, give her a chance. she won the title here by a stroke of luck, she is happy, she wants to give her best shot. She is herself, she is a fashion statement, she walks down Orchard road with a tube:sweat:

i have nothing against her

i just have everything against the people who selected her :bsmilie:

This world is cruel.....fame don't come cheap.

Hopefully she know that rabbit, radio and durian don't start with L.

or that we don't drink oren joo for breakfast? :bsmilie:

Lets us join hands and clap for her...:bsmilie:

The girl next door feel is really something about Singapore ladies. Oh, but when they party with you..... you will forget their less than perfect England.:bsmilie:

ohh, surely forget their england la, we use our hands to clasp them ... :dunno:

so are you guys a proud Singaporean? :p

it is not that she is very good,

it's just that after you've gone through a big stinky swamp, even a mild smelling rubbish dump seems like heaven. :bsmilie:

Hahaha....well yes, and no. To be like what you have described, this 19 yr old girl would need to be mature and very independent. As such, it is not totally possible for a Father to want to mould her for a so-called 'better life'. She would have a mind of her own. And she would have her own notion of what is a better life. So if she feels like entering a beauty competition, I guess I also bo bian, right?

i would think that any truly mature 19 year old would not want to enter any beauty competitions. :)

at least, for singapore. there is nothing to gain, a lot of chance for people to bitch about you.. the cons obviously outweigh the pros.

Liew lian starts with "L" mah.. no? :bsmilie:

Well.. w/o commenting on whether she is "Good".. based on the results and judges decision, she is already deemed to be the "Best". [Available at the contest, that is]

She is the winner? How could that be? She can pass the Q&A segment?

A Star is passe... read the PHD taxi blog. no kidding, its not everyone's dream to be there now.

All A level students know that Astar scholarships are 2nd tier, only the 2nd rate people get channelled there..the 1st rate, top tier people take up PSC.

Besides the usual top A level students, the information and news have spread to the adults and the whole of Singapore. now everyone knows Astar is where all the 2nd rate are filtered downwards to.
