Either way, she is famous now.

*Ricky Martin sing along*

One and... Two and...

And she BOOMS, she BOOOOMMMS
Oh baby
When she talks, she kills
I go crazy
'Cause she looks like a flower but she BOOMS
in a Leopard Prince BIGINI...

An eerie thought just flashed into my mind....what if her Mandarin also buang one?!! Like that how?? Got translator also no use

Buang ah... sigh... Like this also bo bian.
Worse comes to worse allow her to mix all together, 'cham cham' Hokkien, English, Mandarin.. whatever she has.
At least it will sound more natural to us. And the translator can have a hell of a time and the international audience will be thrilled.
Maybe who knows? She will be crowned!

hmm.. my impression of her is that she is quite nice & friendly.. At least she is camera friendly. Some contestants sees camera and turned away! Not sure about whether its the same at the finals thou.. At the semis many contestants see "non-official" photographer no up.. and won't look at the camera for >0.1sec..

She's definitely 1 of the best, if not the best, in That Contest.

btw, she dun seem photogenic... or the pictures are all taken badly including the video..

With an appearance to match?.. hmm..
i think my niece speaks much better english or even singlish...so to speak.

What's so scary about the/that fact?
The scary thing is, she could've actually been the best of the lot during the competition...

Others may feel that it is not a good decision.. but it could be the best decision.. maybe? :bsmilie:
Like many of the CS members posting in this thread, I don't harbour any ill intention towards the contestant. But as Rashkae has pointed out, she is supposed to be the best of the best. I find it a little difficult to stomach it, though if it is the final decision, I will just have to accept it.

The thousands refused to take part in the contest? :bsmilie:

The best decision?? Ok, I'll tell you what's the best decision.

On the way to South Africa, do a quick round up of whichever stewardesses are on duty on the SQ flight, pick one, ANYONE, and send Ris back to Singapore. That would be the best decision.

i found the show... lol...

http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/25w-3JxgVOo/

look from 9:12 onwards... LOL... hehe...

Wah lau! Where on earth do you find this show?! Damn good. I saw all the judges. Yupe. It's them.
I take my hat off! Wah your respondibility damn siong, man! Have to scrutinise the screen and postings 24hours non-stop... if I were you I would have to open another window roaming the web for at least some shows that are more entertaining than people killing each other with words.

Hmmm sounds like most of you frown on her heavy Singlish Accent but to me as a Chinese guy in the U.S. where so many of our Chinese girls sound whiter than the white girls here, I found her accent cute and uniquely Singaporean.

It's not her accent/language, it's her WIT or lack of!

I beg to differ, sayjaibow. I feel that if she were to speak real Singlish it would have sounded better. Here she was trying her best to inject some Ang Moh accent into her English. It unfortunately contorted her tongue to such an extent that the words that came out were really not natural. Sincerely, sincerely. If she has spoken like I presume what she usually does, i.e. pure Singlish without the Ang Moh accent, it could have sounded much palatable (audible).

I'm not Singaporean so my ears are not good enough to know all the different subtlies and shades of Singlish. You guys think she's putting on a fake accent on purpose to be unique? That would be pretty tacky of her.

And then? send who?

Sigh... yupe.

Here, allow me to OT a little bit:
There are Singaporeans who speak good English, not Queen's English, but a cosmopolitan and pan-Asian (or something to that effect) kind of English that is pleasant to the ears, unpretentious, and easily understandable to all English-speaking populations world-wide.
It is inevitable that with overwhelming exposure to US and UK media, the younger generation picks up a little bit of accents here and there, and mixes these into our Singapore's English. I have no problem with that.
I think one should draw the line at whether it is one's natural way of speech or not. For if not, forcing oneself to adopt a feigned foreign accent during critical moments like Miss World Pageant is only courting disaster.
...
Of course, the part about her wits is another chapter all together that I am certain other passionate CS members would deal with in more detail.

And then? send who?

William Hung, now THAT is an example of someone with bucketload of WITS (and made some decent money out of it too!) :bsmilie:

wow i didnt expect her to be so popular... i guess clubsnaps have so many fans of her. like some people say, there is no such thing as bad publicity. publicity is publicity regardless.

Eh... how come this thread is more popular than F1?

If she appears on F1 (hopefully not driving one), I think it would be a breathtaking moment.

We love Miss Singapore!:bsmilie:

She is more famous than Rachel Kum...

Pick anyone to send/escort Ris back to Singapore? :bsmilie:

ok.. just joking.. But really, I guess you've over-rated the SQ girls. Maybe they can speak.. but.. the competition is not about hiding behind a screen and just let the audience hear them. Visual presentation is important too. And having taken SQ flights, I do not agree with your suggestion.. :)
