seems like all 3 lenses have their own strength.. the P10 for it's 300mm zoom for certain situations, the s10 for its 24mm wide angle, and the a12 for its IQ, bokeh and large aperture..
1 more 28mm/f2.5 launching end of 2010. this is the Lens many ppls are waiting for. ;p

Hi everyone, I've just bought the GXR + S10 kit yesterday to serve my compact camera needs, so I'm now in the club!
Haven't been taking any serious shots so far, but as a DSLR user I'm enjoying the handling and customisation so far.
The only problem I've had with the GXR so far is the lack of a quick way of selecting an AF point. The only method I know is by pressing the ADJ lever and choosing the crosshair option, but I think that would be a little cumbersome if I'm shooting moving people and other scenes when changing the AF point quickly is necessary. Anyone has a way to work about this limitation? (other than using snap AF, which I think is the "best" workabout for now)
Looking forward to the 28mm A12...
not sure if Multi-AF works for you. you can try it for intense human moments.
But the AF is not the fastest with the S10, lets pray that the AF in A12 28/2.5 is better.

Yes, the AF is definitely not the fastest, but that's probably the only weak point with the cam so far, for me. I have tried Multi AF but I don't like leaving it to the camera to choose where to focus.
After a week of usage on a work trip, I've found the Snap AF to be extremely useful, esp since the camera tells you the depth of field with the chosen aperture setting. I've used it for everything from portraits to street photography. I usually set it to 1.5m or 2.5m (depending on distance of main subject from the camera, zoom out to 24-28mm and set the aperture to f4.6, which means everything from about 1m away to infinity would be in focus. No waiting for the cam to AF. Simply excellent!
I also use Spot AF, mainly for telephoto because the DOF is much smaller.
I'm really looking forward to the 28mm f2.5 too.![]()
Just back from HK.
And realize that HK selling GXR P10 kit for HK3888 and A12 for HK1450 (if i'm not heard it wrongly)
* Focusing speed has been accelerated through the addition of the new drive mode and the use of a high-speed CMOS sensor.
* The Pre-AF function also accelerates focusing speed by adjusting the focus to match subject movement.
* The full press snap function shoots at a preset distance for a one-push full-press of the shutter-release button.
