PROS
If you use the custom settings prescribed by odklizec (credits to him) (http://www.ricohforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=4025) you can attain some Leica-like dreamy pics. I think all GXR owners should try out these detailed color settings because they are simply amazing.

here are the samples for the image settings taken with ricoh gxr:
my own settings:

settings according to odklizec:

now i have the 2 settings to choose whenever i want to take a shot!
thanks, artspraken.
comparing the 2 images on sharpness, there is a difference. in my own setting, sharpness value is set to 9 (max); whereas in the other setting, it is set to 1(min)

omg i salivated all over myself

downloading now

In simple terms
  • AF is noticeably faster, and now very reasonable
  • MF focus ring is now alot more accurate and easier to adjust (its now more sensitive and easier to sharpen)
  • Still no direct ISO switch function (present in GRD3)

this firmware 1.07 has fixed "frozen screen" syndrome during AF.

now GXR A12 is a clearly better choice over the Leica X1 for me

first, need to check the version of the gxr body & a12/s10 camera unit. if the version of body/lens is 1.07, then there is a need to update the firmware to fix the problems. see website for instructions on how to check firmware version of body/lens.

if the version is 1.06 , then u need to update both camera and lens modules to ver 1.07 :)

... and the firmware ver 1.07 available for update, is it a plug-ins or full version. thanks lim8395.

currently....my set: body ver 1.06 and a12 is 1.05....looks abit mismatch; but works alright!

1.07 is full.

1.07 is a big difference to 1.06 and 1.05. make sure you update!!

after update, both camera n lens module shd be ver1.07. it shd be all 1.07 if u have all lens modules.

ok thanks....got it. ver 1.07 is a new and full replacement for all older firmware versions and is supposedly an improvement for body/lens ops.

will do, ie. to get mine updated soonest. again, thanks alot.

update: yes, got my set to ver 1.07 for both body & lens. agree that auto-focusing is pretty much faster! great!...and thanks to all.

updated mine too and AF is much much better than prev. btw wat do they mean by QF-AF and FR-AF? are there any chges in the AF settings? thx.

Updated and appears to be working correctly. Focus is faster using QF-AF but it only seems to work in good lighting. In poor lighting it still reverts to FR-AF which is the same as the previous AF.

it's QK-AF and FR-AF....i think it stands for Quick-AF n Frame-AF....and these dual modes are applicable to A12 lens module. fast focusing is done in QK-AF. In macro mode, focusing reverts to Fr-AF (slow) where the lcd screen follows the frame focusing process. i suppose in poor lighting condition, it also reverts to FR-AF for better focusing result.

...correct me if i am wrong.
