They actually offered to deduct $90 if I do not want to keep the lens from the kit.

Have you tried Parisilk ? Got my kit from them at that price. Note that they won't confirm that price on the phone but will sell you at that price if you asked them in person and they have stock.

i just came back from KL. walked in and asked only 1 shop and was quoted 5800 for kit and 5700 body only. That works out to only 2557 with today's exchange rate of 2.268....sigh.....dare not ask other shops or bargain if not heart pain :cry:

for the amount you pay in sg, you can buy there and enjoy your holiday (3d 2n) for "free" haha

ur price is quite high. Alan photo and CP quote me $2600 Body only excl GST. 5% GST is about $130. Total $2730 :bsmilie:

Hey, I've got a quote from a friend who works in photo developing shop and he manage to get S$2850.00 incl. gst & kit...sigh!!! no stock from canon!!!!

Can't wait till the stock came in, need to get one for my holiday to Japan next month.

Come on guys, honestly, when you are prepared to spend $2800+ on the camera, does the $50 really matter? I'm no spendthrift, but it's pointless to worry over that $50 when you could have bought the camera sooner and enjoy shooting by now.

Prices for digicams are bound to fall sooner or later, but the question is when?
Do you prefer to waste time waiting for the price to drop rather than be out there taking pictures already?

And if you are really concerned about the price, you may want to get it in Japan. Prices in some shops might be lower there.
