Any1 knows if the staffs at Cathay and Song are equally knowledgeable abt cameras? Dun wanna get answers like "I dun know..." because of minimal savings...

The Song Bro at Funan just quoted me $2730(incl. GST) for 20D body. He finallly agreed to give me $2700 after much bargaining. The kit is around $2875(incl. GST).

BestCam is offering $2835(incl. GST) for 20D kit and $2730(incl. GST) for body alone.

In Shanghai where I am now, just found out today:

a. EOS 20D (body) = RMB12,500 = S$2,500
b. EF 17-40 Ultrasonic f/4L USM = RMB5,600 = S$1,120
c. EF 70-200 Ultrasonic f2.8L IS USM = RMB13,700 = S$2,740

All comes with International Warranty.

Think I'm gona get all 3 this weekend.

Could U pls find out how much is the 1Ds MK2 in Shanghai.

went to funan to look at eos 20d body only, asked around, allan photo = $2600 b4 gst, cathay photo $2850/$2800 (different people) , john 3:16 $2900 (crazy), song brothers $2750 after gst, I told song can cheaper, he says what price you want, then I say $2550 b4 gst, he say crazy rudely so I ignored him and went back to allan photo and ask for $2700 after gst, he say below cost, ask his supervisor, supervisor say $2750 after gst (HUH, $2600 x 1.05 = 2730)... so I left also. *note, I don't really know how to bargain, its take it or leave it with me.*

I called MS color on the phone, they say $2720 after gst. I pondered going over,but it was too far and I don't know where it is.. headed to parissilk, parissilk matched mscolor price at $2720 for the EOS20D and $756 for the Speedlite 580EX.. so impulse buy.... *guilt*

anyway kevin of parissilk was nice and amiable, so will probably buy all my corporate cameras from him next time as well.


*i know masterdiver selling flash $86 dollar cheaper. but warranty mah...new model on market not sure how reliable, skally parts inside made in china defective...*

Some stores will waive the charges. But most stores will prefer CASH because it does add up to ten over dollars when we are talking about a couple of thousands.
