yea. the quality is pretty good for a superzoom. the downside is the hood which feels filmsy and easily breakable. The 28-300 test shots are pretty good!
the f and corresponding focal length values for the 28-300mm lens are as follow.
28mm -f3.5
32mm - f3.8
36mm - f4
44mm - f4.2
50mm - f4.5
62mm - f4.8
70mm - f5
90mm - f5.3
116mm and beyond - f5.6

Who claims that it's sharp end to end ... ;p

Yes, IQ is quite good. Wonder how it would turn out on portraits? Thanks for sharing.
hmm... wat do ur think of the 55-300? should i sell my 70-300 VR and get this? It is like v cheap at 500...
Is it worth to trade D90 Kit len 18-105mm for the new 28-300mm vr ??
just bought the 28-300 for $1350. initial impression its sharper than the tamron lens. pretty good contrast.
D90 is a crop body and you'll be losing the wide when you switch to the 28-300mm. Your wide end will be 42mm on the D90 if you can live with that.
Better idea, trade the D90![]()

The 55-300 is a DX lens, the 70-300 VR is a FX lens. I'd rather get a 2nd hand 70-300 VR than a new 55-300 DX![]()
