Hey guys I'm new here. Planning to get the a DSLR at a $2k+ range and the A77 seems like a formidable one. What are the lowest prices we can find in SG? and what did the Cathay Photo event offer?? Furthermore should I get the D7000 over the A77 as the A77 seems alittle pricey at its SRP :/

I am referring to the event held on Sunday 23 Oct at Great Park City Hall where they will demo the A77.

yeah, I was there.

Nothing really special, street price plus A freebie. no kit lens stocks available, was damn disappointed... Sony or they should have allocated at least 50 pieces for this special launch event. End up I have to get from other shop @ retail price...

If you intend to buy new lens later on.. Nikon will be more pricey than Sony.
Both are good camera. have you hands on?

just asked Harvey Norman JP. 1619 for body with only bag and memory stick. plenty of stocks from what I see ( from their sys monitor)

Went to Sony Style at Jurong Pt on sat but no A65 or A77 in sight...

Went to Sony Style at IMM on sun, both A65 n A77 r displayed in cabinet, u can play ard wif e camera if u ask e sale rep for assistance...

Haven held a d7000 , but the a77 feels pleasantly light. After taking away the mechanical mirror box and penta prism in dslr . It should be lighter than d7000.

Let me know if my pre assumptions are wrong .. Oops

5. Scroll down the specs list and you will see the weight: 732 g
6. Click on Cameras -> Nikon
7. Click on "Nikon Cameras"
8. Click on Nikon D7000
9. Scroll down the specs list and you will see the weight: 780 g

oh, hi, i'm not a sony user, but came across at sony shop at tampines 1...A77 can molest with i think ?16-50?f2.8 attached
nice LCD, nice viewfinder!with superimposed horizontala nd vertical level like jet fighter dial like that...
Burst mode like machine gun....
the screen can really tilt/twist but seems not so useful?as canon one..
But mode dial...like what Kai say on digitalrevTV, when you turn, APSM..seem there is a lag, when turn scroll wheel for adjusting stops...oso got lag..the click does not correlate real time to change of stop like canon....
