Price drop for Kx Body/Kit/200mm/300mm lens kit :)

Just got K-X white kits from SLR Rev. have to get with kit lens.
Feel very light and nice to hold, maybe I get used to the old bulky heavy K10D.
Test few shots, Hi ISO performance was very impressive, and WB much better than K10D.

But this KX wasn't for me, helping someone buy this, will be in his hand next week.

I'll still stick with my Humble K10D for now.

I got myself a red Pentax K-x bot together with a 8GB Kingston SD card and screen protector.

total damage = $812 (K-x with Single kit lense) + $24 (8GB SD card) + $2 (Screen protector)
= $838 (Pay with CC installment)

Hey Thanks alot! I'm not sure how much is the Tamron now, will be asking for a quotation. The tamron f/2.8 l17-50mm looks promising. As for the telezoom.....will look at the thread you put in before making a decision and not forgetting the $$$ factor. Thanks again.

Please correct me if i'm wrong, the DA L lens that comes with the dual lens bundle is "Plastic" that means of lower quality and have a FIXED hood? Or shall we request for a DA version that is metal and no hood?

I think hood or CPL are important to protect the lens at lease....

Not sure about new DAL optical quality compare to old DA, but really sad for len hood but Pentax just follow the trend like other Brands and keep the cost for entry level DSLR package, most of kit len don't come with hood, quick shift (auto change to Manual focus mode). Previous Pentax kit lens really stand out among others.

The DAL already package together with KX body in 1 box, don't think they will allow you to trade with old DA kit lens.

went and wanted to try the KX but they do not have demo sets for testing.
Quite disappointed... I don try how I know what I really want as i am also eyeing on another brand.

Frankly if they would have put in the batteries and let me tried, I would have bought it there and than.

Well they say that because it is a promotional thingy for KX so no trying, well, what if i buy and i don like it or if i say I will buy but after testing it at the shop and I don like it, must I buy than since they opened up the box already?

Yes I think their price is competitive but service? Maybe that day they bad mood or just my luck..

Anyhow anyone knows where can i try the KX, with batteries in that is...

Perhaps the shop you went to didn't have a set to try because they are selling them as fast as they get them. :bigeyes:

Ahh... there's quite a few other camera shops in Funan, like Alan Photo. Could have gone to one of those to try... Or go next door to Peninsuala got a few more like Cathay Photo.

My guess is SLR Revo was probably very low on stocks already... not surprised, seems like the whole world now know they sell the cheapest Pentax.. lol

SLR did not let any testing as it would affect the sutter count of the camera - they believe in selling to their customers a really "new" camera without any shutter count.
