always the better choice.

Agree... this is a better option and long term wise Len value will hold better too..... body value do not hold well....

If I go 6D, only regret is no 100% view finder....

Thought it will be USD1699, ~SGD2088 ?

Any news of price drop for 5D3 too? :p Especially after 6D arrives on our shores and more new products is announced at PhotoPlus later this month. <keep fingers crossed>

probably 6D or 5D2 for me, depending on reviews.

Still no change. Jus checked yday. 4150 with cash, 4224 with CC.

Quite disappointed with the price since D800 is lower than 4k

Looks like Nikon Singapore is finally letting the price fall to a more competitive level... Remember the D800 started higher than the 5D3 in Singapore even though the opposite was true when both cameras were first launched.

Erm ya but let's face it, until its launched with a street price, all these are simply RRP. I won't put too much into published prices till it hits the streets. Once Canon realises that they are losing the entry level FF market due to pricing, they will adjust accordingly.

Just a question for those who own a5d mk3..have ull ever thought of selling it? N why doesn't it suit u? Or what u don't like about it? Cause I'm seeing people selling it like 3mths after they bought it..

Some r selling now cos they r anticipating a price drop when 6D or the rumored 3D arrives.... If one is already planning to downgrade to 6D, upgrade to 1Dx, or switch camps... It's better to sell ASAP than later.

Classic demand and supply and market forces at work.

Price comes down when there's too much supply, too little demand.

Those who sell because they are "anticipating a price drop"? What kind of a reason is that?

After owning a 5d3, I've not thought of selling it, even with the 1Dx out. There are pros and cons, but price of the 1Dx is a big disincentive, unless you're a pro and this is your bread and butter, or money isn't an issue and you just want the "best".

hehehe I'm going to wait for end of year or new year to see how many people sell off their mk3 for something else..n later on how many are going to sell off their 6d for a new model later on..this new model releases are going to wreak havoc

I never thought of selling my 5D3. I am likely going to keep it for the long haul... until the 5D4 is launched.

I am still challenged and awed by this camera. There is a lot to learn and master. I've got about 3 years to do it. :)

I feel canon have push 5dmk3 higher into the 1 series segment.
It is almost a 1dx except mainly fps and shutter lags.
6d feels more like a decent upgrade to 5dmk2.
5dmk3 should have been 3d.
This 6d should have been 5dmk3.

Let's not doubt Canon. Surely they know what they are doing. Had 6D been a 5D3, a lot of pple would be disillusioned. The AF of 5D2 is what everyone is complaining and yet it was probably the most successful DSLR in terms of sales. The 5D3 has a very much improved AF and received good feedback. The 5D3 will probably stay in the market for a long time. Apparently 6D is the entry level end of FF as 7D is APS-C. With 1DX as the flagship model, it is interesting what lies between 1 and 5 series. I think they will be revealed in the next 2 years.

I agree. I would even say that the AF in the 5D3 is easily within the pro range. It is a very complex system that would take some time to master. ISO/low light capabilities of the 5D3 are top notch also.

One thing though, I did try the 5D3 for sports yesterday and it failed miserably. 6fps? I doubt it. For sports, only the 1D series will suffice. But for environment, landscape and other not fast moving objects, the 5D3 is best.
