Poll: Which Full frame camera will you buy?

Which Canon FF will you buy?

Results are only viewable after voting.

One thing though, I did try the 5D3 for sports yesterday and it failed miserably. 6fps? I doubt it. For sports, only the 1D series will suffice. But for environment, landscape and other not fast moving objects, the 5D3 is best.

Did you leave the AF system on silent mode? That will dramatically slow down the fps.

Not sure what you mean by silent mode.?. My 5D3 was beeping away.
I left it on servo focus and continuous tracking to follow the tennis action. Took >1k shots yesterday, so going through them will take time.
I'll review/comment on the Tamron 24-70 at the same time in the other thread. ;)

There is a silent shooting mode. The icon on the top LCD where your AF single or burst rate shows an S next to the icon.

The 5D3 has a silent shooting mode. Check the manual on pgs. 112-113 and this will clarify what I mean. If you happened to use the silent mode in continuous shooting, you would have been limited to 3 fps maximum. If however, you were shooting in non-silent continuous mode, then fps is doubled to a maximum of 6.

Wow... more than a thousand photos! Please post your 3 or 4 best!

I look forward to your dissertation on the Tamron 24-70. With that many photos, you would have given it a good work-out!

Probably gave his batteries and arms a good workout too. Haha :)

Oh...That silent mode. No lah...not that blur...I was trying to get as many fps as possible to capture the action. The 3fps is really silent, that I have to hand it to Canon. Its almost as quiet as a leaf shutter.

Most of the shots were taken with the 300mm, but I did give the 24-70 a good workout too, as well as the TSE17, which was pretty fun. :)

The AF module and CPU processor of the lens does play an important role for FPS as well. Just like I find 24-105 focus much slower than 24-70 even in day light.

If that's the case, how about the AF mode? Not sure if the tracking mode slows down the FPS due to the "lag" time needed to focus.

On the higher end body, there is an option to select whether the body wait for lens AF confirmation or "about there also can" then take the picture.

Im certain that's the case..unless u put both lenses at same focal lengths n focusing distance then focus on the same object..that would test it..but i bet both would show same speed..

AF mode = servo
Focus priority = is the one with the tennis sign
Shutter mode = H

It's not released yet so there is no price. At least not one that is confirmed locally.

Price will be out end of month

oh ok thx but its out already rite

Nope. What makes you say it's out already?

The price is US$2099 (RRP)... sing dollar maybe 2699 (RRP)?

For me personally, I would take 5d3.

In some websites out there (just googled it), the price of the 6D would be similar or the same to Nikon's D600. And since Nikon D600 is already out, we can look at that price, then plus-minus one or two hundred dollars... that should be a good indication.

Anyway, none of the FF even the supposedly budget ones are within my grip... And so... yeah... I can carry on dreaming :P

The price in every region is different .in uk it's about 1899 pounds
