Hi. With the large number of k10d users here, I hope this is the right place to ask this question:

I understand that there is a problem with the jpg picture quality of k10d. I understand that the problem can solved by shooting RAW and then do a conversion. There was a recent firmware 1.11. Just wish to know if the problem has been resolved with the new firmware upgrade.

Thank you.

first of all, i don't really see a problem with the jpeg quality of the k10d. anyway, the firmware updates don't address the so-called problem, i.e. the softness of the jpeg. the recommended solution, if you're concerned, is to shoot in bright mode and up the sharpness to +2.

A flock of them!

Is there a better world out there?

What are YOU looking at?

It's a beautiful day to be in the Mandai Orchid Garden!

I tried to catch some sunbirds but failed instead. Most of them were in places where I did not want to shoot them... Anyone got tips to find them in flowers or something?

Nice images VulpixOR...I like the first one best because I like colours! ;)
Only thing is the bird in the centre, which is the presumed actual subject is not very prominent.
cheers

Thanks.

I think the easiest way is, you just sit there and wait for them coming to you ;) There are alot birds by the big pond at the center of SGB, where people feed the fishes. The birds over there are not so afraid of people. Sometimes they can get too close for you to even have a full body shot :D

You can even feed them like this:

Thanks fengwei, have not tried shooting birds at SGB so far. Most of the time i will observe the bird behaviour first and decide whether i have a change to shoot near it. Always make the mistake of trying to go near them.:bsmilie:

 whole series of DAs! wow...

That's nice! Finally you got the DA70

Hope to see some great photos from these three baby pancakes of yours ;)

Yes. has also laised with the local distributor on this lens but  ... so decided to order from somewhere else.

Nice set:thumbsup: Trying to decide on a portriat lens, but still can't make up my mind on the 50mm f1.4, 43mm f1.9 or the 40mm f2.8:think:

50mm value for money
40mm small & compact
43mm nicer bokeh

Which would you all choose?;p

For portrait? Better get a DA70/2.4. It's a very good portrait lens.

40 adn 43 are great for something like street photography. FA50 is a great lens for all purpose, but once you had a Limited lens, you might not like its plastic barrel ;)

Having had both 77 and 70mm, I would still go for the 77mm. The pictures from it are plain amazing and had that extra effect when compared to the 70mm.

I'd agree w/ you on this one :)
