Nice shot. What lens is that? Looks really good

Thanks man... nothing compared to your 500mm mirror shot of the moon. :)
Using an old Vivitar 70-210mm and pull it to the max without any chance to focus at all. :bsmilie:
Thus explained the blurness in the big crop picture...
Only consolation to myself for thr shots is i did i t handheld. :)

Is it vivitar series 1 70-210mm f/3.5 filter 67mm?

great moon shots! good detail. I suspect you took the image the other night when it was cloudy. I noticed it also. The clouds could have acted as a filter to cut off the glare and bring out more details....ironical, isn't it? Nonetheless, the 200mm lens performs very well against my sigma 600mm. Expected somewhat because mirror lens tend to have lower contrast that glass lenses...

Nope it's not the series 1 thugh i am still looking for them. :p
On the box say " Vivitar 70-210mm f4.5-f5.6 Macro 1:4X" which have a 52mm filter size.

And thanks for the kind words. :) Actually not much of a detail once i cropped it tightly so i recropped it till it looks good to my eyes with a fair bit of details shown. Boost the contract a fair bit in iPhoto and upload here. Guess i have a bit of luck last night when the moon is bright and the clouds are good. So far is the best attempt out of the 2 on shooting the moon. Still lusting over the 300mm Sigma to take better shots of moon and maybe stars...:p

I was hoping in my heart you have the Vivitar legendary 70-210mm:( I really want to see it in action. But your copy is really good.

Hi
How do you tell if there is too much USM. So usually you only do 1 pass? Is this feature only found on PS CS2/3?
Cheers

If you look at the picture of the WTKF i've taken, you'll see a "halo" around the bird's outline - a sign of too much USM

Pardon me for being a digital idiot.... USM stands for???

No deep lah. You should try it, you'll start to love USM:bsmilie: The 3 numbers are what you enter into USM window:)
