went to the zoo recently with my k-x and FAJ 75-300 lens..

to me..the 75-300 is a value for money especially if you dun need the reach frequently..

hi may i know whats ur technique for this?

im trying to learn landscape photog..

do you use a ND filter (with large stop down factor), set on tripod, f8 and above, low iso, then long shutter exposure?

finally, how do u get the purplish tinge?

thanks bro for sharing.. am keen to learn landscape!

Hi sobrietyanonymous , I use a Black glass (6 stop) , Sirui Tripod , F11 , ISO 80 and 20sec x 9 exposure :) The Purplish tinge was due to the custom white balance and PP filter .
Hope it help .

Sharing one more tonight

ND Filters are Neutral Density filters... They are neutral, as the name suggests. Well, supposed to be.. But all of the strong ND filters are not neutral, because there will be infrared leakage during long exposures which renders a warmer cast. The Lee Big Stopper (over)compensates for this and hence gives a cool cast out of camera.

Easiily corrected with custom WB if you shoot RAW nonetheless. :)

With 3rd party adapter, max flash sync speed is 1/15 ('dismal') :(
But for macro its usually ok.
1. Iso125, f8 -usually the ambient does not add to the exposure. Only the flash does, and that is independant of shutter speed
2. Use tripod and timer or remote

the details and dof is awesome with only f8. like the idea of using a small LED light to illuminate, search and assist focus.

but find i cumbersome to have to fix it to a bracket. the overall setup weight is pretty heavy and movement is restricted for me.

Uninvited guest flying into my kitchen sink to quench its thirst. Its been doing it for several days already. Must have some honey somewhere:bsmilie:
