Decided to get a 200mm f2.8 recently. Was eyeing the FA*, but the prices was quite high... In the end, I got a Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar instead, at a much lower price. True, the AF on the FA* would be helpful, but not that factor not a deal breaker. Besides, the glass was gorgeous.

cropped - I suspect that the focus is slightly off for this one, and this could have been sharper. But not easy to focus when the M42 adapted mount is loose, and the lens itself weighs 1.27 kg.
Very nice rendering of the OOF lights.

Usually such old lenses are truly built to last and feels good even to see, touch and hold![]()
I guess this is the first time I've risked my life for a photograph.. Slipping on the ice and falling into the sub-zero lake with nobody around would not be fun at all! Some parts of the photo are blurry due to water droplets from the big waves.
