Taken by K7 + DA*300mm + 1.7x F-AF TC

Wide open at F6.7 just too soft (and too much CA) for this combo but half step to f7.1 is a lot better

;)

Taken with k20D / 50-200mmWR / pop-up flash.

It's probably just me ..... but the K7 image looks washed out and flat against that of the K20D ..... in other words no kick ..........

Well, never use a K20D before, so could not comment on the K20D IQ
But I strongly believe these are due to the camera setting and condition of the shot

Kind of trying out this setting
http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=675896
and it does give me kind of a bland colour

And to add to it I was shooting at harsh lighting and at high iso

that's my 2ct

I see many posts asking for latest and greatest high ISO NR (esp. anxious parents who want to capture moments of their little ones), when using flash is the cheaper, more direct and imo better way to do it.

Vivitar 285HV w/ PT-04 wireless trigger (1/16 pwr), placed to bounce off the left wall. Camera set to expose for the lights in the background while maintaining a hand holdable and more 'movement stopping' shutter speed (ie. 1/40).

Taken with recently bought Tamron 17-50 F2.8

Spring is here, my school planted all sorts of colorful flowers so I finally get to put my Tamron 90mm macro lens to good use once again. :)

Took a trip to Death Valley National Park in California. It's a real heaven for people who like various types of open and barren landscapes, and even more so for anyone interested in geology and natural geography. Would have been wonderful for stars too, but I didn't get any good pics of that... so the amazing starry skies are only in my memory and not on pictures.

K20D, Tamron 70-200 continuous AF is frustrating, especially for subjects coming towards the camera. Only can get 20% keeper ratio at best.. Is the K-7's continuous AF significantly better in this respect? I wish I have a friend here who can loan a K-7 to me to try out side-by-side, maybe that would convince me to upgrade.. The Canon pro photographer mistook the K20D's 3fps for me keeping my camera on single-shot drive mode, we had a bit of a laugh about it, albeit at the K20D's expense!

Nevertheless, I survived and managed to get some photos at a track meet today. The first first 1 was AF-C and the last 2 are pre-focused with AF-S

there are more factors than just camera.

it's not as if the lizard was taken in the same place, in the same time, in the same light, with the same lens, in the same position, by the same photographer, with the same parameters and same treatment thereafter.

if that were the case and the outputs were as such, yes, the k7 image looks washed out and flat, and that would be something worth talking about. however, that isn't the case. in short, it's not just you, but the conclusions drawn are probably your own due to limited understanding of how photography works.

So beautiful tammy boy.

Stuck in the room with a little monster who will give off the dreaded wail if I leave her to sleep alone. So take the chance to play with the camera and flash.

Head board of a traditional chinese entrance way
K7JP5076.JPG

1 strobe bounced to the left wall to give texture and light up the entire board. Another flash with a home made grid to light up the centre focal point of the piece.
