when you have run out of other options
you can consider paying some money and have it pin sharp by casted on film

How big is it?

I think A4 $8-$10 a piece

Testing today... let you know soon.
Printed...

But may not be to your expectation....
- Laser prints do not give even black on transparency (banding is visible)
- Laser prints turn up as greyish on transparency
- Laser prints have "specks" of no toner spots

You may have to touch up with a Marvey Marker ;)

Thanks ykia,

Been doing research for producing zone plate, most site propose using high contrast negative to recopy it, but I thought those service already extinct, and don't want to buy a roll of neg and process it myself.

Only came across one site mention it workable on laserjet transparency.......:embrass:

guess now I have to try other way. :(

Isit 100% opaque?

If have, I will use them. Any contacts?

have, but you need to create the file for casting first

Film casting is still alive, not everyone uses CTP

Call me to discuss creation of file.
I can send for you, you just collect and pay

just joined in the thread halfway.. read something about catchlights want something opaque on a transparency?

I tried to do a 'mask' for PCB in the past. The PCB traces that I want had to be opaque and those I didn't want had to be transparent. I printed on a transparency with laserjet and photocopier machine. Both didn't turn out transparent. A technician told me there is a kind of specialised copier machine to do these that prints out the 'black' parts in high density make it more opaque than normal machines and queensway shopping centre didn't have it.

moral of my post: laserjet and normal zapping machine wun work :D

if got 100% opaque printing service i also interested for projects later down the road :D

That's right. PCB need 100% opaque film, those silk screen people also need 100% opaque film. How come I never thought of that, still think that already extinct.

YYK I think you can PM ortega for contacts.

best to use a vector format like freehand or illustrator
these are pin sharp not resolution dependant

can blow up to building size and still be sharp
but typically the films are actually for commercial printing
so it is very sharp and hi res
