It's an informal way of asking "Have you eaten yet?"... much like our "jia pa buay?" You won't learn that in your textbook... The formal way I believe is "Tabete iruka?"

btw i realised alot of things people pronounce wrongly ... the 'N' sound is more like 'M' and the 'R' is more like 'L' ... so 'konbanwa' actually sounds like 'kombamwa' but little stress on the 'm' and 'arigatou' actually sounds like 'aligatou' with little stress on the 'l' also :bsmilie:
