actually i also thinking of this subject as well now... headache wor... went to soo kee & sk, seem like both design same same... (btw how many rings needed ar? proposal ring x 1, wedding ring x2?)

den still thinking where to stay... haiz...

time to post a thread... looking for cheap / free photographer for ROM... :bsmilie:

You need to buy a proposal ring first.

After that you must go with her (if she accepts) to choose the wedding rings.

I feel that you buy her ring and she buys yours.
Does not make sense for you to buy your own ring.

Del: All I can say is congrats, you've choosen a path most man fear. Good luck, walk together forever as u made up ur mind already.

Personally, my taste is still a single solitaire for proposal. Maybe old fashion, but still works like a charm. bought a 0.26 ct 7 years ago cost one arm one leg  now so cheap.

Del: Don't let the salesguy sucker u, daimonds are diamonds. Don't bother too much on quality, cannot really see difference one. Get a bigger one, I saw Citigems promo 0.5ct solitaire at $768, I think.

Andrew, there are lotsa jewellry shops in HK, esp along Nathan Rd. Lotsa of great design and diamond with fansy cut like heart, pear, emerald and princess. Got mine there also, an emerald cut. In Singapore, very hard to find fancy cut, most of the shops sell only solitaire. Not to mention you can look for your toys at the same time. Keke..

Ya i believe all the "new" flats these days are very small. Maybe u can consider resale flat? Would it be better? *i oso not very sure too.

wah...congrats man! welcome to the club...and end of freedom as you know it :bsmilie:  ;)

prices of a 4 room around toa payoh should be agar agar 200+K , prices of a new 4 rm flat , 130K - 180K , but have to wait for 3 - 4 years. What will be cost effective to me ? Try this ....

apply for new flat in punggol (just suggesting haha :bsmilie: )
Get married , stay with parents for 1-2 years.
save up within the 1-2 years
get the flat , no need to take loan for reno (pay from savings)
lesser instalment from CPF also.
Can buy more new toy !!

one more tip to add:
stay near to parents so that can drop by every night for dinner :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

mature estate (toa payoh) normally cost about $50K-100K more than new estate (punggol).
Size of flat depends on what you intend to do in the flat.
If you like to entertain lots of friends, then go for the 5-room flat with the bigger living room. That is the only difference, the living room.

Cost difference of a 4-room to a 5-room can buy medium format with 22MP digital back. Or a new car.

not to forget that govt always give more rebate to smaller units like 4 rooms :bsmilie:
