I have bought the K20D at $1800 cash at CP-M.
For grey set price $1580, only $220 different. In my view, it's not worth. what do you think?

different people have different value placed on the warranty

if it's worth it to you it's worth it..

if not, then not lor :)

Pay $220 or almost 15% difference in price for a 1 year warranty is definitely no small amount. After all the difference can get you a new battery grip or more memory cards or a new hard disk or part payment for a lens or flash unit.

Did you check the warranty card? Mine has a 18 months warranty written on it. It was the same for my k10D.

I feel that it is not worth it. Problems with electronic component usually happen after 1 year++

but well, i tink some ppl rather have that safe feeling that if anything kaputs (touch wood)... hv warranty...

I have used the k100d for more than a year and it's visibily and 100% alright... And I have not even brought it once to Shriro, which I regretted now (for cleaning).

It was until the warranty's over did I go there to clean it for me... :(

SO I may just take a little risk in doing so... And if really's so, I can always ask OP for help?!?!

How much did they charge you for cleaning? :)

Eh... special price.. cannot tell here.

I don't think it's more than 30 dollars.

MS COLOR k20D -$1790 BUT out of stock...Not sure when coming in...

There 1 unit of k20D at TK right now, and also quoted as 1790.

Those you think that it's too risky to get Grey set, and want a camera to use this weekend... Hurry down?

I still think that you should have a warranty, after all. May be another 99 people have no problem but you are just unlucky to be the one guy who got a dumbshit set which got through QC. Well, that's why warranties exist.

Or it's may not your or the camera manufacturer's fault but the dumb bloke you lend your camera to. Back when I was using my P&S, most of the guy I lend my camera forgot to use the wrist strap. Some almost dropped my camera (by some silly reasons; but thank god they did not really drop it). Many were stupid enough to touch the lens with their FINGERS (and I was not always carrying the cleaning kit around)! And I also lost count of how many time I borrow a P&S camera with a lens full of fingerprint.

You can not anticipate the risk; so better protect yourself (can you camera too!).

Deadman1709, warranties cover manufacturing defects from the manufacturer relating to the product.

It does not cover user wear and tear or issues like the camera being dropped or the presence of fingerprints/scratches on the lenses caused by use.

Hi
As I was told by Fengwei previously, the "limited" here does refer to it being limited edition but merely a model range for their higher end primes.

This site is a good resource for Pentax lenses.
