The reason would I want a k7 today is because the flash encapsulation of my k10d is blocking the knob of the tripod stand on the F*300 such that I can't shoot in portrait mode in the "correct" orientation.

K-7 pricing now very tempting indeed, originally planning to get the K-x dual kit package, now considering the K-7.

Can anyone recommend a good travel zoom lens to match with the K-7 (pentax or 3rd party) ?

A quick check on B&H: $USD1050. After conversion, shipping and GST, cost around $1600. So effectively, its only $100 less. Better than nothing but isn't really that Great a deal lah...

but mine was bought 3 days after K-7 arrived in Singapore, at less SGD100 than other shops

For $200 more, you had gotten to use it for so many months, nothing to complain le. Price depreciation is expected one lah. Someday k7 will reach some $1.2k thereabouts before its discontinuation. Then everybody here will gian the k8 or something...
