Pentax Luna New Year Promotion - K-7 for $13xx, Twin WR Kit Lenses for $439SGD!

is the DA1770 weather resistant? looks tempting.

It has some weather sealing, but it's not weather resistant lens. A great standard zoom lens though. I love mine :)

@FW,

any idea when the bundle pricing will be out? haha! it is so poisonous!

no idea, the info came from a friend who went there the other day. didn't ask as i'm aiming for another lens. you are probably right, could be the DA1770.

The DA1855 and 50200 WR twin kits together will be available (in 10 days) for less than $450. I'm getting one set that's for sure :)

Great news!
It makes sense to have WR lenses in front of a WR camera body.

means you can get a WR system (with dual kit lens) for less than 2k!

k7 = 1.4k
dual lens = 0.5k

wah, that is a very good offer!

wow that is good news. Now should i get one set as light walk around kit.:confused:

I'm betting (just a strong hunch without any insider knowledge... keep this is mind please!) that the K7's successor will be announced in the first half of 2010. It seems to me that Pentax/Hoya is in a hurry to put in the new K-x sensor into the K7's successor to achieve a rapid dramatic turnaround in sales numbers worldwide... a la K-x.

Hope they don't miss the boat... this time!

unless you have objective proof to back that up, i suggest that you are mistaken about k7 having an inferior sensor or it's release was a mistake.

it was intended to have hands-off noise reduction vs in-camera. don't bother subscribing to conspiracy theories that have been rampant on the internet, it's a waste of time.

i also guess you have not read in-depth sensor reviews about the inferiority of the k-x sensor in the low ISOs, and some also the failing in color moire/other inaccuracies.

the apparent lack of k-7 DR is because of inherent ETTR as well, the consistent loss of 2x shutter speed from the norm is also because of that, not due to a "dim or insensitive sensor" whatsoever. The proof of this is consistent higher measured ISO readings from k7 output, closest than all other cams to the manufacturer ISO standards.

such intentions on NR and metering can be very puzzling and that's why attracting a lot of scrutiny.

Yes, that'd be some where between $250 to $290 I think.

Hey, wait a minute! Thought you were immune to LBA already :bsmilie:

i wonder the DA 55-300mm is on promo:think: nevermind, i will continue to use my junk lens under good lighting...

Would any of you know if the price of K7 is dropping in other international markets too at present? If this isn't happening, then Fengwei's assumption that Emjay will bounce the price of the K7 back up after CNY sounds logical.

Can't wait for the price drop of the WR kits and get with the k7..

My first DLSR~
