Pentax K3 -Probably the most advanced APS-C DSLR is launched!

Not everyone who wants to own K3 is trying to show who has money. Have you seen the personal classified in CS lately ? It's buyers market !

It is just human instinct to yearn for the latest gadget. In most cases it is not a matter of wants or needs. If it is within one's financial reach the urge to buy is uncontrollable. During the initial period the demand will sure to outstrip supply. Gradually it will be the other way round.

Marc Newson design not spared... reception for his co-designed Leica would be much better...

I didn't like the look of the joint designed Leica, but its for a good cause.

Battery from the K-7 & K-5 cannot be used? I read...

Ricoh is asserting its influence on the branding ..... ;)

Hope the glory of K3 won't fade when Sony announces their new products in the next week or so ...

The Sony Oct 13 offerings are likely to be FF mirrorless cams which the price will be quite high though. Unless the K3 is priced higher or close to that of the Sony, then it will surely draw potential/current Pentax users over to the Sony.

Looks like its an avalanche that will be hard to ignore.

But all this is just another option of camera systems.

1. For one, with Ricoh addressing many old shortcomings of the Pentax system, the chance of a Pentax FF is higher than ever.
And in the end, the Pentax/Ricoh camera/lens philosophy is different from a Sony one.
No right or wrong, but depends on what the user prefers.
So far, I know I prefer Pentax.

2. Pentax AF lenses won't AF on a A7.

3. K3 stands as one of the highest end (if not the highest) APS-C DSLR now.
There will be those who see the merits or prefer APS-C and DSLRs.

4. If considering a new system, then any brand offering a FF is just as viable an option than a MILC Sony FF.
The MILC FF is mainly attractive to those using legacy lenses.
Some guys don't even like to MF or are slow at it, and in the end, they are better off with AF lenses and then that means might as well look at the available options as well (ie. Canikon)

It's not just about the price or potential buyers, it's about 抢风头 :D What I mean is that the media and internet would be talking a lot more about Sony's new offerings instead of our K3, which will then push us to an awkward position...

Sony mirrorless FF will be something new since no other makers have yet ventured into. It will surely attract alot of attention. New tech always have more coverage from the media. Nobody will deny that. But it will die off once the excitement is over. Its just like cola. You open the can and alot of fizz. But after awhile the fizz will be gone. :bsmilie:
