I was expecting lower for body only hahaha

I guess everybody wants to have it cheap. But on Amazon it's $1300USD, that's not including tax (well, that's one of the reasons that they can sell stuff cheaper there). I'd say anything lower than $1600SGD is a good buy, and we have to factor in 7%GST.

Some would compare the price w/ HK (again, no tax there) or some 水货 in China (again, no tax and probably got problem w/ warranty too). If the actual local price is somewhere around $15xx SGD, I'd say it's not too much off from those prices, and we'd be covered by 1 year local warranty, and avoid any problem in ordering/shipping/warranty...

its a very reasonable price - K5 was also released at around that price last time.

Ya . I still rem I pay 1720 for my K5 .... but no regret .... cos K5 really make my photographer life easier after using it . ha

I paid $1680 for my *istDs back in early 2005

And the *istD was sold for $2730 in 2003! That's when I felt dSLR cameras were too exp, so I paid $1480 for a Fujifilm S602Z DC ...

For an early adopter price, that's pretty good. From my memory, anyways.

Yeah, I paid $1600 for k100d.
Passed on ist* as going digital then was expensive.

But how foolish was I.
Missed on taking digital for china, jpn, kr, france.
Not got money also no time to travel anymore

An upgrade every 3 yrs is a small price to pay for a hobby.

You know, I shoot most in M mode. I dun AF in macro. still K10d gives one of the best IQ in iso 100. still everyone is upgrading and its a herd instinct. follow lah.:bsmilie:When I see the nice image taken, I forgot how much I pay... hehe...

Well after looking at RCPprice by Mr khaw I was thinking about somewhere near 1488 mark then seems to be competitive with nikon d7100 but maybe keep a lookout next week or is there someone who are buying next week can let me join in and have a look at it

I don't know anything about the price in HK or China. But one thing for sure is that we can expect to have better price in sg, because of

sing dollar gaining ground against the weaker yen. In my opinion, It is worth to buy from oversea only if you can save more than S$200

But the risk is always there, such as item not arrive, no warranty or even item damage during the transit.
