Rain you still can use it but just remeber to wrap the camera body if you are not using a OMD.. kekeke...

Thanks Optoms. I plan to visit Marine Life Park at Sentosa on this weekend and see how good this lens is able to capture under low light blue large aquarium.

According to my regular experience (From Pentax to Panasonic) with Tenso, I am not charged with GST whenever I purchased from Amazon Japan. I am still awaiting Panasonic 12-35mm lens to be arrived either tomorrow or coming Friday...

Tenso itself do not charge GST.
After that it depends on your luck if the Singapore Customs charge you GST.

Finally my copy was delivered to my doorstep after 10 days.. Should be faster if not for the super long holiday and weekend the japanese enjoy. Anyway, i got it from amazon JP and forwarded by tenso.com. All in at $1374 with the delivery charges. I think i am lucky cos im not charge GST.

I don know if tenso got report any amount. What i did is to follow the instructions from tenso and they just billed me for the delivery charges

Me too. I second that.That's why I prefer Tenso's company. Quite faster, reliable and mostly importantly, cheaper.

I think the fundamental problem is how the Japanese companies are run . Every manager of every subsidiary has to defend himself in front of the CEO. They aren't out there to do anyone favours.

Singapore is a catch-22. Culture here has managers tending to prefer to squeeze customers for maximum margins with little elasticity because there is no true competition. The camera guy is probably a small fry compared to the home electronics guy. So he is at the low end of the pecking order, never mind the local branch is relative to else where a small one too.

True.. But with a globalised economy and ability to shop across borders, they are slow to react to the situation...like the recently announced hmv going into administration, if Eveyone starts buying elsewhere via ecommerce or via hand carry etc, panny lumix division might as well close shop here..

This have to ask why ppl starts shop across borders.
why this situation does not apply to Apple?(we rarely buy iphone from overseas)
