We understand that this is what you intend it to be and good of you and your group to take time to organise for the benefit of the commnuity.

But next time when you organise such paid events it will be proper and out of courtesy to seek the admin backing and concurrence to post it here as non advertiser so as not to create any misunderstanding whatsoever. Rather than posting it here and then tell all including admin that this is non profit.

I don't think it is very difficult to PM the admin and seek their permission. Admin in CS is not unreasonable as long as it benefits the community in CS, I am sure they will agree wholeheartedly.

thank you for your understanding of our intentions that benefit of the community. it is good to have cooperative moderators like you and cheesecake too. i'm sure Admins are reasonable people else the whole forum would have collapsed long time ago.

to us by posting here and inform all about our type of event is what we'd consider proper and need. if anyone would like to know how we spend the money we collected, do feel free to pm me. i can give you a clearer picture of how the paid money was/will be used. we've nothing to hide since it's a non-profit event. i'm doing this simply for the community unless clubsnap forbids me. oh, btw some of us actually mention of sponsoring part of it.

it is not difficult to pm anyone in clubsnap but we don't see the need to since we're not doing anything behind the scenes/illegally etc in this case. in fact we think that we should informed ALL(admins, moderators, paid/unpaid advertisers and paid/unpaid users of the forum) as regards to any of our events. thus we don't see a need to pm admins over this non-profit event as this is solely for CS community too. so posting it in the thread makes more sense than PM-ing everyone on this.

not sure who will be affected by our events but and unfortunately (and if) clubsnap is a community base also there's nothing much we'll change for except for the community. myself and others would hope clubsnap to continue to be great community base forum so we put in some of our efforts.

last but not least i believe Admins would be happy to see many of us here contribute to this community by helping others just as others(like you and etc) who had help us too.

Let me say again more bluntly. It is only polite you inform the Admin first before posting, period.

They own the forum NOT you and they see the need, not up to you to say you do not see the need, so please don't do things your way but abide to what is being told. Is this so unreasonable?. You want to post here and yet you want to insist your way of running things here? Be reasonable. Why can't you be cooperative like us?

Yeah.... Consider that I have to fork-out extra $55 from my own pocket to rent a projector and screen for this outing. This so-called "paid" event is not at all profitable.

Bro no point .... They live by their rule.. Too bad we got no backing...:sticktong

It not a matter of backing or brands here. Even when I organise outing under CS banner and when there is payment, I also write and seek the admin permission, simple common courtesy. And yet it is so difficult to not only understand but comply.

This house does not belong to me nor you. It belongs to the admin.

You or anybody can come into here to be part of the community, but then then abide by the house rule set by the admin. It just like when you have guest in the house who come in and tell you straight in the face "no" when you tell them to seek permission to do something in their house.

The point is very SIMPLE it is NOT ABOUT PROFIT, We know and UNDERSTAND

THE POINT is just simply PM the Admin to seek permisson before posting the NEXT TIME.
Is this as clear as distilled water?

And yet you make a fuss out of it. - JUST A SIMPLE PM to admin and you made a fuss!

NObody is indispensable here and that include me "just a mod" - life will go on in CS without or with us. Cos there are many who will and have the capability to organise outing and also become moderators too. Get the message please - I am just stating simple fact not about being arrogant.

We are adults. I don't know about you, but both Jacob and I are fathers of school-going children. We know what you meant by "rules", because we do the same to our children; we set strict house rules and they'd better follow.

Calm down, bro. You didn't have to elaborate your 'point' so many times. We understand your intentions very well. ;)

By the way, aren't we OTing here alot lately. Let's get back to our outing and register those who are interested to attend.

Yup, we're all adults, althou i've yet to have kids. But apparently you did not get the correct idea.

To say the least, like the house rules you have wrote about, we're merely asking Jacob to inform the Admins about his outings thru PM by another moderator. Instead of adhering he is suggesting that we should inform him instead? Is that being reasonable? I mean, house rules, you go to ppl's place, you will ask the owners if you can switch on the TV or take a seat, instead of that he just walks straight in & insists that we should serve him drinks and make him comfortable.

Then he got more worked up and posted a message here that if anything, please pm him directly. We know this outing is good for the community, but rules are rules. We're merely asking for mutual respect and simple cooperations. If this can't be done, then what should we do?

Good that you all realised that you are adult and need not be reminded of that! If only you behave like one in the first place instead of behaving on the contrary when told of admin requirement.

Make sure it is done the next time as I would not be having to remind again.

ok Move on

Well, I don't mean to OT here again, but I feel an admin staff (maybe Darren) should voice his opinion on this incident. We don't mind corresponding with some moderators, but it is more appropriate to approach the direct source of "authority".

I hope I am not asking too much. Consider it a "see our MP session". ;)

Oh... I got the 'correct' idea, clearly.

You guys merely wanted us to fill an 'application/consent form' before organizing and posting any 'paid' outing. Simple as that (I hope....).

By the way, this incident reminded me of my daughter's form teacher in school, Miss Kang. She says my daughter needs a 'toilet permit' before she is allowed to answer the nature's call. School rules these days are farcical, and Miss Kang is simply doing her job as a teacher cum 'moderator'.

Bro forget it... Just do wat they wan... If not like mi kana kick out... ;p

There is always PhotoMalaysia where people are more cordial and well-mannered.

Anyway, being a Singaporean, ClubSnap will always be my preference unless the admin decided that I should join the rank of 'Student'; as an outcast.

Relax la (all) bro. It all started with the collection of $5 issue. The moderator has clearly stated that it will be good if we (or anyone) were to do this again, he/she ought to inform them. We just do it next time then! Money is a sensitive issue. Like what the moderator said also, THIS IS NOT OUR FORUM, WE DON"T SET THE RULES HERE, THEY ARE THE MODERATORS. Let's not go any further to talk beyond this issue (moderator this and that, etc).

This programme that u people are organising is for the benefit of the Fujifilm users here. THAT IS THE OBJECTIVE. Going any further into such discussions is not going to add any value to the objective. BE OBJECTIVE ORIENTATED, ADD VALUE. We should just stop these fruitless discussions (or rather, argument) here and carry on with what is needed to be done.

Although i not joining this time round, i appreciate the effort.

The moderator has clearly stated that it will be good if we (or anyone) were to do this again.....

Again???? No way Jose.... This is most probably, very unlikely, after this incident. As Jacob had mentioned before, we (for me, at least) will rather stay home and rot together with our Fujifilm cameras.

We have to seek authorization and be granted permission to do "what is needed to be done" - it seems.

I was beginning to feel 'at home' with this forum until this happened. Imagine yourself being told not to do this or that in your own home, do you still feel comfortable?

To all and Jacob:

To show my discontentment with what happened. I will deregister myself as of today.

Jacob, please SMS me to keep me informed and updated in-regard to this coming outing.

Sayonara.........

since you quote me, i might as well explain to you the difference between you and your daughter unless you wanna go back to primary school.

1st, is this thread a nature calling that you have to clear it off otherwise you will wet yourself or is it just a thread that can just take time to get the procedure done?

2nd, probably you also misinterpret the teacher, same as the house rules, your kid need to follow the school rules, the teacher is probably telling her that she should seek permission before going to the washroom instead of just running out to the washroom. What if every kid do that, where is the control? And what if something happens to her, who will be accountable for?

So are you going to be placed together with your daugther or you wanna tell me that since you have a daughter you are more adult than us adults?
