Nice!Bro.. U use single focus or zone focus?
Using E-P5. Single AF box (small), i normally use a mix of shutter button and touchscreen. Depends if subject is fast and moving out of my AF spot, touchscreen works best for me.

I see.. Thanks!bcs when I use single focus always like out of focus like that.. For eg. <img src="http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=873"/> End up my wife's left eye is blurred >_<
You need to practise, practise and practise. Eventually you would get your desired result after trials and errors.
Is it must use focus peaking?
Is it must use focus peaking?
No need. FP is normally for MF. Or S-AF+MF for fine tune. You can try fixing your subject @ an AF spot and just S-AF on that spot (e.g. eye) if you are near to subject and the face is tilted and at wide open you do have a chance to have one eye OOF. That's due to depth of field of the lens rather than system issue. If u have problem with m43 for thin dof, it's worse on dslr. Practice and have fun. You can also try turn on face detection, though I've not done so for a while. Might work for u.
Trust me , use SAF-MFmore than enough to get it right , fast enough for street shooting too.
Started with SAF-MF then focus peaking when the function appeared but ended up with SAF-MF in the end.
Found it! Didn't know I have to search through the menu to on focus peaking.. Then I was like keep on turning the manual thingy thinking why cannot highlight.. Hahaha!
Try using AF to lock in first then using the manual adjustment ring to focus in. I use manual assist which gives magnification once I go into MF. Once it becomes second nature , heh , u really won't use FP.
So u mean the focus peaking not so essential?
*Edit* will go try with the focus peaking first and when comfortable will switch it off and use the manual focus![]()
Kuniyomiyo said:Oh! I see! Thanks for the advice..my wife nagging bcs I told her I'm lazy to carry dslr around due to the weight then I'm always looking at om-d thread and she knows my intention.. Then I secretly sold all without seeking her permission and get the em10.. Hahaha! Really seduced by the retro look of om-d for a looong time.. But don't dare to buy scare I will regret.. Guess I have to keep on trying just like bro iise7en says..
No worry man! I was like you when I switched from Pentax dslr to Olympus m43 as I was fascinated by Olympus's small cameras but powerful IQ. Then I sold off my Pentax gears to buy Olympus em5. On many sour and big hiccups, I could not achieve good IQ from Olympus( I kept on scratching my head why, why that mine lousy and why there this so good)which I was too used to Pentax gears. But time passed by, I read alot good tips/guide online from Clubsnap, other forums, YouTube, etc. From that 1st day of using em5, I never looked back since as I am happier and contended having good prime, zoom lens and got myself new Em1.
No sweat..you would be getting better if you continue hanging onto your Olympus thingy and carry on shooting good moments, especially with your wife.
Bro, FP is a type of MF assist. For m43 I find our AF to be pretty spot on. If OOF could be slow SS so open up the aperture and/or increase the ISO. For living things I would try my best to AF on the eye.
