John 3:16. I really like that shop.. i guess i'll get my cam from

there next year ..
Yios..Pinkishy, the people at John 3:16 are nice...real nice...and they love to tell stories too....stories of their friends who shared with them their joys. I like them very much but didn't buy anything from them cos' they didn't have what i wanted then...still...price comparison is important.

Yeah Cool Man! Dun thank me too much...it was really nothing. I'm very fascinated with this cam still. Shot more than a thousand pics with this baby already...and am dying to get the polarising filter and batt grip. I haven't sold the epson printer yet...perhaps..i should..and get myself a grip too!!! Hee!!! Hey..you really should try the multi-metering in highly contrasted background. You wun believe how good this baby is.

Thanks Garvin! :D cos i find no need for the printer as my brother and i sharing an old epson 830 and still satify with the printout thus decided to trade it off with a grip instead and left with some money. :) And guess what? i used the balance of the sale to get myself a Hoya cir-polarizing filter at Cathay Photo this evening! :D no chance to try it out yet. hoping to catch some nice blue sky tomorrow morning! :D Cost me 33Bucks. Hope the result is good. Can't afford the original polarizer (priced at 50++) so opt for this instead. (wondering if it's the same thing, pardon me if i get it wrong ... newbie to photography :p )

BTW, have shot few night scene and wanna upload. Any idea where i can upload it free? This new toy have drain me dry liao. looking for free host .:p

Ain no model number from the box. just Hoya filter : cir-polarizing. I was asking for polarizer for 40.5mm and was presented with this and brought it straight away. :) tag show 42 bucks but the cute auntie give me at 33 :)

Wah Slacker now your 5060 is more pro than us!!. Glad to be of help and welcome to the 5060 club.

This camera never ceases to amaze me. I've taken over 2000 shots and continue to be fasinated by its ability. You won't regret the purchase.

$33 for the cir-polarizing filter sounds very good. Maybe I'll get it too. Even with UV filter on, I already see a big difference in outdoor landscape, beach shots etc. Must find the cute aunty at CP to give me the same deal :)

Selling yr Epson 3-in-1 at $220 is really a good price. If I could get around that I'd sell mine too.

Like everyone else, waiting for the LCD hood.

One free site is http://www.imagestation.com/ run by Sony. No limits. I use it for some of my shots.

Example of what I have shot when I was in Cambodia mid-Nov taken with the 5060 http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288329913

Thanks Sree. :) Not pro at all. Only in look. Zero in output still. Cos it's my 1st advanced camera so still learning the basic of photography. My last one and only camera is Sony P1 brought by my brother.

Here's what make me wanna get the circular polarizer filter. A link send to me by my friend and i read up and got the filter the day after. :) Guess i'm lucky enough to get hold of one piece so soon. Hear from the cute aunty who wear spec in Cathay that today there's a new batch of shipment for 40.5mm filter. However, she did not disclose what type of filter it is. Presume it's UV and Polarizer. Maybe more.

Still waiting for the 3rd party battery to launch as i need one for a whole day shoot for my friend's wedding this 7th Jan. Still have yet to get hold of a flash. On budget now and really hope i can get one before the event.

BTW, you guys/gals find the hood useful? I'm not too sure about it but find that it might obstruct in some movement one way or another. Just my opnion. Maybe i try on one when it's available and my mind might change. :p

Lastly, you guys/gals using the original strap? Looking for a cheap alternative. Something that's thick and hopefully neoprene. Any of you using other brand? Like to find out the alternative and the price if you can recall. Need to save up for small accessories like strap and stuff.

I'm still using the original strap...but it cuts into the flesh after hours of slinging it on my neck...can't imagine what it will do to yours with the extra weight from the batt holder, extra batt etc...

I saw some straps in CP (Marina). Some as expensive as $40+++ (OPTECH), some as cheap as $12.00. If you have the habit of slinging the cam on your neck...you should check it out. Actually the cheap one looks okay...feels okay too.

Just called CP, the Cir Polariser is out of stock!

Oops. tink i got the last piece yesterday. :p How about other filter? Hear from the aunty that attend to me that newstock for 40.5mm is here today. Not sure which filter is it.

BTW, welcome Jasmine. :) Another 5060 user.... :D

Does the batteries grip have a tripod socket?

Thanks Slacker. As for charging, do you need to buy an optional AC or must the batteries be taken out to charge normally?

Like Canon, Olympus cam have a seperate charger and yes you need to take it out of your camera and charge. Prefer this way as the camera might be damage if plug to charge. Just like my sony P1, no money to buy external charger and ended up blowing the camera.

Hi Slacker,

Understand....what i mean is the batteries in the bat grip. Sorry, I didn't ask properly. I totally agree with you with an additional charger is better. That is one of the reason I bought the 5060.

I'm just wondering whether the batteries grip can be detach from the main body to charge. Charging two batteries at the same time.

Nope. it can't do what you are thinking. I rather not too. As there's still circuitry in the batt grip for the zoom n shutter. :)

I agree with Slacker that all batt should be removed from the cam when you are not using it for a period of time. You can't be too careful with them, and you wouldn't want your cam to give up on you just when you really them.

Shark...if you are concerned about taking too much time to charge the 2 batt..maybe you'll like to invest in a rapid charger. I wouldn't recommend you using the cam body to charge the batt....you never know when there is a surge...

Better be safe than sorry....er...am i sounding like the traffic police???

Ya hoh! I have almost fogotten about the rapid charger. Thank for reminding me.
You so "on", sure know the price of that charger.
