No la... I emailed them this morning.... Cos I will be away during end dec, so enquiring on the shipment date...
I was using the 40-150 f4-5.6. Don't get me wrong. That lens is plenty sharp for its price and build quality. I'm selling it because I'm getting this new lens and no point keep it. In terms of weight and size, it's so much smaller and lighter than the f2.8 and u can easily carry around for travel too. The auto focus is also spot on which makes this lens fantastic for sports photography during the day but not fast enough for indoor sports and night shots.

There's been quite a few posts about being contacted by Olympus for collection of the 40-150/2.8, can I confirm that Olympus called u all ?
I'll start first by saying I'm in the 1st batch of preorders and Olympus hasn't call me wor ,
but ya - just checked with Olympus and the lens should be out for shipping latest early coming week for the 1st preorder batch but do note that the lenses will have to be shipped to shops and it will take a wee bit of time.

To minimise any possibility of rumors , I've checked with Olympus today for dates of collection for pre-orders of the Olympus 40-150/2.8 Pro
1. for the 1st batch of pre-orders, stocks will be sent out TODAY to shops.
2. for 2nd pre-order batch, owners will be able to collect by Jan.
Note that the shop you selected for collection will call you up when they receive the stocks and islandwide delivery isn't easy to work out so be patient for just a few more days :bsmilie:
Olympus has worked crazily hard to give us this good deal (hey, its $1998 for a 40-150/2.8 plus 1.4x TC) and they really tried to push for earliest delivery date despite a worldwide shortage of stocks - appreciate ok.

And so I think Olympus will be happy that they will not need to pick up a call every few minutes on enquiries about the collection. hmm.. although I can't say that for the selected shops now..
Anyway, unless I pick up the collection call these few days, really don't think I will be around in town next week to pick up my copy... T.T

I think if it wasn't for the weak Yen ... SG pricing consider quite good already. look at Malaysia pricing.
But it seems like it's a lot cheaper to buy the lens and TC from Japan at $1.6+k which means that the $300+ difference is for the local warranty.

All preorders are already taken. You can put your name on the interest list here but it's unconfirmed if there is sufficient stocks.
