[Official thread] Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f2.8 PRO

Lol , of course ; this pair of hands have molested so many good cameras and only buys the best. (Not my hand ok!)

Hohohoho..... I know who the hands belong to...

I collected with a hard copy of the email but they returned to me after verification and told me to keep for warranty.

collected mine from mscolour this afternoon. the shop retained the printed order from olympus, as well as made a photocopy of my IC.

btw, can't find the lens in the online dropdown list to register for warranty. perhaps olympus hadn't updated the list with this new lens yet.

Thanks Keith for the lens. I have tried with or without TC on, both works equally great. I am glad to have come back to MFT because of this lens.
Here're some pictures taken earlier in the afternoon.

welcome back for the nth time, power cat shot ;p

More importantly is to have the receipt, probably give them a week, else give them a call to be on the safe side

Haha ya, welcome back Bro. Pls don leave again or u will have to spend even more money coming back again next year with new bodies and 2 new pro lenses

Hi ,

Think it's important to clarify something here as it's important to be clear about things so there's no unhappiness when the 40-150/2.8 is out for collections

There's been quite a few posts about being contacted by Olympus for collection of the 40-150/2.8, can I confirm that Olympus called u all ?

I'll start first by saying I'm in the 1st batch of preorders and Olympus hasn't call me wor ,

but ya - just checked with Olympus and the lens should be out for shipping latest early coming week for the 1st preorder batch but do note that the lenses will have to be shipped to shops and it will take a wee bit of time.

I was in the first batch and was not contacted by Olympus Sg regarding the arrival of the lens.

It was only when I read some comments in clubsnap about the imminent arrival that I alerted Ms colour who checked and said that the lens for their first batch (including mine) would arrive by Dec 05.

Luckily, I had to be at Ms on that day and I was able to collect the lens.

There was no favourtism or a case of senior members getting news first.

well... apparently i wait until today also nobody contact me yet. Anyway I would be free to play around with the lens, so I'll just wait patiently.

thanks for the advise, spidey89. will check olympus online registration again in a few days' time. the shop doesn't provide any receipt because payment had already been made directly to olympus during the online order. the shop asked me to acknowledge on the copy of the copy of the order that i gave to them, to indicate that i've collected the lens.

i noticed 3-4 more lenses yet to be collected from mscolour when i was there yesterday afternoon. those who had placed order to collect from mscolour may wish to contact albert see (97609388). the collection point is at the blk 711 main office, not the amk hub outlet though i thought i opted for the latter during the online ordering.

the lens is indeed shiok; smooth zooming, silent and fast autofocusing. mount fitting very precise with no freeplay, even with the tc fitted. need to get use to the retractable lenshood; tend to dismount it when extending. balanced well with m1 w/battery holder. hadn't tried on m5 yet.

'fault-finding' - prob aesthetically with the shining exposed protrusions on the lens barrel when the tripod mount is removed, and handling when accidentally held onto these studs.

Then you should be fine, they should have records of you purchasing the lens, but to be safe, contact them in a few days time. Those shining protrusions are for the tripod color to hold onto the lens, I honestly prefer shooting with tripod colors, gives me something to support with my left hand

Why not call the shops that u chose as the collection point ? It's the responsibility of the shop to call u.

All the 1st batch preorders stocks are with the shops already since Friday.

Thanks for helping to clarify :)

Hope so haha, that guy buys everything

Lol.... That's how I got to know him because he also sells everything(I am still using the N brand lens he sold to me faithfully)...

The lens is now in the list for registration of warranty, although the MC-14 teleconverter is not.

Have tried to call them to clarify, but unable to get through.

Maybe they did not include it in the list as everyone bought both items as a set, so it is understood that registering the lens is as good as registering the MC-14.

But I still want to clarify with them.

One small problem I encountered is that Florence was not in town when I picked up the lens on Saturday and the staff did not "chop" my warranty card with their company stamp and date - have to go back to get it done, otherwise I have no record of "purchase" date.

I've just collected my lens, but my warranty card stated its for China region. Anyone else having the same warranty card?

Courts at causeway point told me that nobody informed them about contacting those who had preordered. They took the printed copy of the preorder email and photocopy my NRIC.

Called up Olympus, registered the lens but could not find the teleconverter in the list.
