Confirmed u can get the pwp for the battery at $19. I just bought it. But you can only get one battery.

Would like to share my thoughts on the A7 after playing around with it for an evening. I'm upgrading from an NEX-7.

Firstly, I like the size and the layout. Lots of custom buttons is nice.

Second, dials are a lot stiffer to move than the NEX-7. Probably need to get used to this.

Third, low light performance is really good. Based on my very brief comparison, I feel A7 ISO6400 pics are quite comparable to NEX7 ISO1600 pics

Next, AF is seriously fast compared to the NEX7. Folks upgrading from NEX5R/5T/6 might not feel much difference. Note, I'm guessing here.

In addition, I miss the pop out flash. I bounced the NEX7 flash occasionally. Going to miss that.

The damn hotshoe plug is very tight. Nearly broke a fingernail trying to get it out. Actually I'm a little concern about the reliability of those tiny leaf connectors in the hotshoe. Guess only time will tell.

Still not used to the fact the SDCard slot is not with the battery. Keep opening wrong door.

Weather seal is a nice feature. Will give some assurances in bad weather.

Miss the rapid fire shutter speed of the NEX7. The A7 feels clunky.

I did try the A7 with my Zeiss 24mm. Wow. Low light is FANTASTIC at f1.8.

Initially I was totally pissed that Sony didn't include an external battery charger. Now that I realize that you can charge the camera via USB, I'm ok with it. Not to mention, with the QM1 charger, you can charge one battery externally and one in body. Closest you'll get to a dual battery charger.

Lastly, I like the new menu system. Thou I miss the inbuilt help. Maybe I need to read the manual.

Mind sharing some pics taken with the Zeiss 24, both crop mode and ff mode? Would love to see if I should make the jump with my current crop lenses while saving for FE lenses...

Is d 24/1.8 SEL even a ff lens in the first place?

Haaaa he is a good and premium customer to the shop.....

Not really. a7 was my first ever purchase with the shop. When I pointed to the salesperson that I want two extra batteries (with PWP), I was waiting for him to object. He didn't.

Hi there, i am also a Nex 7 user and thinking of getting a A7. Is the quality coming from the 24mm looking better compared to Nex 7?
I have quite a few nex lens. Still considering if i should sell them off. Any advise would be grateful. Thanks

Tot it is already understood if u mount the 24/1.8, it will go to APSC mode?

I think* he asked because he wanted to see how "cropped" the image would be if you turn off the APSC mode of the a7/a7R off? Some lenses (well, SEL1018 at least) don't have big vignetting on the a7/R that you can use it on "full frame" mode.

I believe you can overwrite and shoot crop E lenses on FF mode.

So yeah, just wanna know if the image circle of the lens is that narrow, and if it would make sense to be able to manually crop wider, say a 28mm equivalent, instead of the default 36mm equivalent. Sel1018 has good extended image circle.

*brofist*

In the search for a separate charger on ebay, I encounter a very good deal of original battery+charger at SGD40 incl. shipping :-) plus one charger accidentally buy at 7SGD on ebay so now i have 3 batteries and 2 chargers. Can only blame my clumsy fingers, clicking too fast.

Kei is right...silly me...freaking old version...updated to 3.3.1 n it's working now....thanks

Not sure if posted before.. the 55mm rrp is 1349 based on Sony Days catalogue
